I ordered these because I knew I'd need several potty pads and didn't want to use disposable ones. They were well worth every penny, taking on urine, the occasional poop, and even a little vomit. My dog was old and suffering from kidney disease, and when it got really cold this past December, he was able to stay inside and use them. He used them at other random times too, if he forgot to ask to go outside and preferred something soft under his paws instead of the smooth flooring. I also used them near his food and water bowl so in case he spilled food while eating, and plus they gave him traction for his feet since his back legs were beginning to have trouble. He's since passed on, but these helped him a lot (and me). They wash up really well with just mild detergent and gentle drying. I'm planning on donating them to our local shelter since I no longer need them, and hopefully they'll be able to get many long years of use out of these.
After spending a fortune on disposable puppy pads for my Iggie pup, I decided to try these. He had no issues using them. Although I have to wash them every day, they wash & dry nicely. I use laundry sanitizer along with oxy clean & detergent (all free of fragrance). I have 2 sets of the smaller ones & am ordering the 48x48 too. Now if I can just get him completely house trained….
These are a must have, I would advise you to buy 2 sets, in case laundry doesn't get done that day, we have a 5 mo. Bloodhound, 7mo Labrador, 15mo Labrador, 12yr Labrador and 13 yr Chihuahua, crazy YES! But these can make over night clean up so much easier than the costly disposable pee pads all over the place with this many pets. We sill use disposable pads in the kennel when we leave, but thinking of changing over to smaller these.
Got a male puppy who was trained on washable pee pads so thought I try. They stink more than the disposable but I guess better for environment. Plus you can lay these under a smaller disposable one for dogs like my new one who insists on mostly peeing on the very edge lol. I like the print and mainly got it cuz of that.
I have two chihuahuas with tiny bladders and they can go all night without going out but if not crated they choose not to wait and are never vocal about needing to go out. Also after years of happily sleeping together in their crate one decided he hates it and whines to be let out all night long. Tried the disposable piddle pads and they have never used one no matter were I put them or how many I put down. Decided to try these and was surprised they used them almost right away. I put them right on top of my area rugs and it worked like a charm and they are so much easier to throw in the wash! My poor rugs do not hold up to being washed regularly and start to make a mess in my washer and dryer as they slowly fall apart. I am hoping I can finally replace my area rugs and they will still prefer the pads since we know that no matter how many times you wash something they still know where they went potty before.
Love the pads. Pros are theyre cute, absorbent, stick better to slippery floors. Only con is that the dark doggy paw prints camoflauge when my yorkies make poopies so its easy to overlook & step on lol. Also on the other hand, many times we go to pick up poopy we see only to discover its not poopy but the paw print on pad.
These are so easy to clean the cage. Once or twice a day, I just roll up the puppy pad (and the sleeping pad) and shake it outside, then throw it into the washer. Clean up only takes a minute or two. I recommend getting 4 of them, so you don't run out. They are very absorbent. I highly recommend these puppy pads.
I have been using these potty pads for a month and I'm very happy with them (just ordered two more!). I have a 10-week-old Shih Tzu and I use this pad in her "play place" along with one in the living room. I've also washed them multiple times with no issue at all. I spray the "potty area" with prewash spray, put a scoop of oxi-clean and regular detergent in the washer and wash. They turn out clean and ready to use once dried.
Our oldest cat started refusing to urinate in any of the litter boxes. He preferred to urinate on the carpet in the bedroom. After trying new litter, adding another litter box (we now have 6 boxes for 3 cats) and using the sprays to clean up the carpet I decided to try these Potty Pads. They are my carpet savers! I put them over the carpet in the areas where he was previously urinating (after cleaning the carpet with the spray) and he went right back to the same spot-no aversion of the pad at all. Our cat urinates quite a bit, but we haven't had any leak throughs. I've washed them as needed (whenever they are soiled) and they haven't kept the urine smell after washing. I use oxy clean in the washer with regular detergent (no fabric softener) on the cold water setting and then air dry or dry on low heat. They do have a non-slip bottom. BTW, we did have the Veterinarian check our cat just to be sure the urinating wasn't due to a medical issue. Veterinarian gave him the all clear physically and suspects the urinating is due to bad kitty attitude.
I absolutely love these washable/reusable pads. I place the regular pee pads on top of these to catch anything that may accidentally dribble off the side of them. I haven't had to clean the floor at all since getting these larger reusable pads!
