Packaging- the feeder comes well packed with clear and easy to follow assembly instructions. It comes with a charger, so I was under the impression that once charged, it would not need to be connected to the outlet; however, it does require to be connected which means you will have to dedicate an outlet for it. Having had a pipe burst that lightly flooded my living area, I am reluctant to have an electric equipment on the floor while I am out of the house. Feeding programming. This is the part where it lost the rest of the stars. It requires sooo much time and patience to program and the programming instructions did not help much. If you press the wrong button or passed the time or date you wanted to set, it took so long to the starting point. It only has one small bowl. Leftover food from the previous feeding may be accumulating, which may pose a health issue if the bowl is not washed daily and remains with uneaten food. The product is promising, though. Here are some suggestions for improving it: easier interface where you can program feeding by directly typing numbers rather than scrolling for dates and times (or an app that can program it); bowl in each side so that we have time to clean the dirty bowl upon returning from work (it can also serve for multi cat feeding); and rechargeable battery that can be recharged at least weekly.
Does your cat bug you to get fed?

I have used many automatic feeders, this one has some advantages but I don’t think I’ll use it regularly as it is. I found it easy to program. It has a small footprint and a removable stainless steel bowl. You can either plug it in to the wall via a usb c cable or put batteries in it if you don’t want to use it near a plug. What’s nice about it is that it takes AA batteries. Every other feeder I’ve owned takes C or D batteries. The areas this feeder falls short are numerous. The biggest flaw is that the funnel that directs food into the bowl is easily dislodged by my cat. My cat isn’t that interested in tinkering with stuff, but he can manage to pull the funnel off. When it is off food goes under the bowl, and in order to get it out he tried to knock the whole thing over. I may tape the funnel in place to keep him from dislodging it. The stainless steel bowl is really hard to remove to clean. It needs a taller lip or a small notch where you can get your finger under it. When you program the feeder you set a time to feed and tell it how many servings to dole out. The manual doesn’t describe how big a small or large serving is. Through trial and error I figured out my large cat needs 2 small servings. I haven’t tried 1 large serving yet, as 2 seemed pretty close to the 1/4 cup he gets twice a day. I don’t understand the design choice to have two separate compartments. My cat only gets one kind of food, but maybe other cats get a variety. The box has a WiFi symbol on it, but the feeder doesn’t have WiFi connectivity. This feeder would be great for a cat that wakes their owner up at 4 am wanting breakfast. I wouldn’t trust it as a vacation feeder since it is so easy to dismantle.
Good for a Backup

This feeder has some good features, but a few things held it back for me, so I’ve decided not to use it as my main feeder. First off, there are no clear instructions on what a “serving size” actually means. After some trial and error, I figured out that with Hill’s Adult Cat Food, 10 servings equals about 1 cup, but this should really be included in the manual. Another issue is that the feeder has no sensor to detect if the bowl is already full. If your cats don’t eat on schedule, it’ll just keep dispensing and easily overflow. I also had trouble powering it on with the USB-C cord. It only worked once I installed 4 AA batteries (which aren’t included). Plus, there are areas in the feeder that trap water during cleaning (like near the motor) but can’t be easily dried out. Not a great design if you care about avoiding mold or long-term damage. There’s a silica packet that’s meant to go inside the lid, but there’s no mention of it in the instructions. Same with the two food compartments. I’m still not sure why there are two, but at least they can be programmed separately. It does successfully dispense food and has worked every time I’ve tested it. The motor’s a bit loud, but not outrageous. However, there’s a WiFi symbol on the box, which is misleading. This feeder does not connect to WiFi or an app. Everything has to be programmed directly on the device. Lastly, they stuck a big sticker right on the front of the feeder that doesn’t peel off cleanly. It left a bunch of sticky residue behind that I haven’t been able to remove. Also, the amount of plastic in the packaging could definitely be reduced to be more eco-friendly. Overall, it’s functional and could work fine as a backup feeder, but I wouldn’t rely on it as my main one. Some clarity in instructions, smarter design features, and fewer packaging missteps would go a long way.

I can’t say enough good things about this feeder! I bought the GroovyPets automatic feeder hoping it would help keep meals on schedule when life gets busy, and it has honestly exceeded my expectations. The setup was simple, the programming is flexible, and I love knowing my pets are taken care of even when I'm not right next to the food bowl. My favorite part is the peace of mind it gives. No more rushing home or worrying if I fed them too early or too late—the feeder handles everything. The portion control is super helpful, and it’s surprisingly quiet, which my pet appreciates as much as I do. It feels sturdy and well made, and I love that I can easily monitor or adjust it when needed. Both my dog and cat caught on quickly (especially the cat, who now sits beside it before meal times like it’s her personal butler). If you're looking for a dependable, easy-to-use feeder that makes daily routines smoother, this one is definitely worth it. I’d absolutely buy it again!
Helpful addition to a busy home!

This is my first auto feeder. Instructions were simple and straightforward. Took about 20 minutes to put together. The setting of the meals is a bit complicated for my brain that turns to mush with technology but my hubby had no problems figuring it out! The feed tray will be easy to clean as well as the food container. I love that it plugs in to the wall with a usb C cable as well as having a backup battery option. The feed hopper contains a good amount of food (about 16 cups). Between 3 cats that eat twice a day it will last 5-7 days. The feeder is about the same size as our gravity-fed feeder so it can still fit in a small space. My teenager will appreciate this device the most as she is in charge of feeding the cats, however, I am thrilled that I won’t have to remind her every day!

While not the most intuitive auto feeder, this one was a nice option for people not wanting a WiFi connected device. It was semi easy to set up, and input all of the settings/feeding times I wanted. Having 8 cats, it was nice to have something that filled automatically in case we didn’t notice their bowls were empty. This feeder also had a divider for the hopper, in case you wanted to use multiple dry foods, or even to give out treats. The lid isn’t the easiest to put on, but it isn’t difficult either.

I was excited to try the automatic feeder, as I have never had one before. It was simple to put together, however I don't like how the bowl/try doesn't lock in place, it tends to fall off immediately. Since I've never had one before, I can't say for certain, but the steps to set clock, timer is a bit difficult and confusing, for me the instructions were not very clear, so I have not done that yet. I don't see when the feeder is fully charged, maybe I'm missing it, but wish it was simpler in terms of time, timer and set up.

This product is really nice, easy to put together, doesn't take up much space and is super quiet. The only downfall due to the instructions being so light on the paper that it makes it almost impossible to see the instructions. Overall, I really like this product and so did our small dog. Worth it!
