The remote will only show it's own battery life. The collar should be removed if not in training to avoid skin irritations or injuries. It may be charged when not in training.

We have extra large Great Danes and they enjoy barking after 9pm, neighbors not so much. This actually worked! I used the tone setting which worked for about three days. Then the vibration setting once and no more barking after 9. I hate to admit it but yes I did try the next setting up on myself (on my leg, because I could), I do not recommend it. I’m sure somewhere in the instructions it says not to, but I did, so after letting out a primal yell and tossing it across the room. It still worked. Now I have to admit I had some issues setting up the second one, but after having someone under the age of twenty, it works.

I specifically chose this unit because the transmitter cold be paired with up to 3 dogs and it is advertised as "waterproof". While it works as intended, the instructions say "The rubber cover must be placed in the correct position and the dog must not be allowed to swim with it." Unfortunately, that means we can't use it in most of our favorite places.
