My 12lb. Shihpoo has played with this treat-dispensing toy for about 40 minutes, and he doesn't seem to be interested in trying to tear it to pieces. I think this will work out fine in keeping my boy busy for a bit without worrying he will ingest something he shouldn't.

This toy is definitely a popular one in our home. My German Shepherd took right to it, and taught my Aussie how to use it. Having inner balls that roll independently adds an element of randomness and surprise to the toy, which keeps my pups engaged and focused. It has held up well and feels durable, but is soft enough to not damage walls or floors when they get carried away. Loading the toy with food and small treats is very easy as well. Unlike some similar toys, both my dogs can pick this one up comfortably and bring it into another room with them. We are happy to have this one and it will get used often!

I really like this puzzle feeder! It is a great size and the treat balls inside the outer case of the puzzle feeder are pretty cool. I really like that the outside of the puzzle is a rubber-like material. It is not super soft rubber but soft enough that it doesn't scratch your floors or make a ton of noise. Our younger puppy gets incredibly excited by hard plastic toys so the outer housing being a tough rubber makes it easier for her to focus on getting the treats out and focus less on destroying it if it were hard plastic. The balls inside roll about pretty easily and although aligning the balls to the holes is a bit tricky it's not impossible or maddening. Filling the balls up with a small handful of kibble gives the dogs about 20-25 min of playtime. I did not find that treats became stuck between the yellow inside balls and the rubber outer housing, which was a nice surprise! Overall I am very happy with this puzzle feeder!

I really wish it was easier to load the treats in the little holes in the yellow balls. I can get the kibble pieces into the blue outer shell easily, but then my dog is able to get them out too quickly. I have tried using my finger to hold the open part of the yellow ball in line with the the hole in the blue outer part, but it's very awkward. Perhaps if the blue outer part could unlock and open it would be easier to load? The size is very nice, as it is too large to go missing under couches and other furniture pieces, but still small enough that my medium sized dog can push it around easily. Getting it clean is a bit tricky as well, but again this would be solved by being able to open the blue part.

My goofy dog has been known to get stuck behind fallen branches that he could easily walk over, so I wasn't exactly sure how he would approach this. It turns out the design was simple enough for him. Although he was a little larger than the size range, this was perfect for him to nudge around on the floor. The bright blue color made it easy for me to see on my floor so I can keep an eye on him when he uses the toy. I had two sizes of kibble to choose from to add to this toy and the smaller kibble worked much better. I think I was able to put in at least half a cup of food before I decided to give my dog a try, so it's able to hold a decent amount. Overall I'm happy with this product.

The Duo Ball has a lot of potential, but it does not quite deliver, literally or figuratively. A significant shortcoming in the design of the toy is the difficulty loading treats into the "inner comparments" of the balls that sort of float within the outer shell. There is not a simple way to align the holes of this outer shell and holes of the interior ball where the treats are supposed to be. And once you have fussed with the toy to align these holes to get the treats in, the interior ball needs to be rotated so that the treats do not readily fall out when the dog initiates play. This is even more difficult. I suspect that this flaw could be corrected with minor redesign, but as it currently works, it is too much of a hassle. On the plus side, if I use high value treats, my standard poodle stays engaged with it for quite a long time since it is hard for him to get the treats out. He has no trouble solving the great Nina Ottosson food puzzles (that he loves) but he does not stay engaged with them for very long because all the treats are gone! Also, this toy seems like it would be very durable.
