Can the bottom be drilled for a drain?

I wouldn’t recommend it. I have a larger one of these (36x18x18) and they’re pretty sturdy glass (I think it’s tempered on the bottom but don’t quote me). It’s also not really designed to hold that much water so if your planning on putting a semi aquatic species in one of these I would move on to another enclosure, or invest in a caulking gun and some aquarium/pond silicone. Personally I didn’t seal mine but I just didn’t feel the need to. Depending on the species you keep these can definitely be made to work, but you just have to make them work…

How deep is the waterproof level?

The horizontal model’s water fill line is 4.8 centimeters, or 1.89 inches. The arboreal model’s water fill line is 12.8 centimeters or 5 inches.
