Do any ingredients come from China?

Halo selects every ingredient based on its premium quality and nutritive value. Each ingredient comes with a certificate of analysis and country of origin. All Halo meat, poultry, and fish proteins are sourced from the US, Canada, or New Zealand. Because of Halo's commitment to using non-GMO vegetables and fruits, they also source plant-based ingredients from Europe, where GMO crops are prohibited by law. Any ingredient sourced internationally comes from verified responsible suppliers.

Does this formulation include any chicken or other fowl?

If I switch the food from chicken flavor to salmon which both from Halo, do I still need to follow the 7 days process to slowly increase the percentage of new food?

Once your pet is eating all Halo food, if you switch between Halo recipes, consider a 2- or 3-day transition to minimize stomach upset.

Picky Cat with Allergies Loves it & Tolerates Well

I have 11 picky cats with a million different taste preferences and one with severe poultry allergies. This Wild-Caught Salmon & Whitefish food doesn't have poultry!!

I have 11 picky cats with a million different taste preferences and one with severe poultry allergies. This Wild-Caught Salmon & Whitefish food doesn't have poultry!! Yay! That is so hard to find as most cat foods at least contain chicken or turkey meal in them. Bonus: it has pork, which is also equally hard!! My allergy cat LOVES pork and tolerates it very well (less diarrhea), and this food has helped him and another cat we also suspect has a milder poultry allergy.

Early one morning I opened my back door to see an under nourished momma cat and her undernourished kittens. Needless to say, having two fur babies, I knew without help Momma Cat and her babies would not make it in the elements. I called Chewy to ask if there was a program with any discounts to help feeding ferrel cats and the representative said there is no program and I should feed the ferrel cat family kitten food. All come several times a day to eat and are looking healthier but still very afraid of people, even the hand that feeds them.

Halo - What Is Going On - Quality Issues

I chose Halo because of it is grain free and has limited ingredients and my kitten, Sam, was having stomach issues. For the first six months things were great -

I chose Halo because of it is grain free and has limited ingredients and my kitten, Sam, was having stomach issues. For the first six months things were great - Sam loves this food and his stomach issues improved. Then I started getting bags with big chunks of food it in, larger than a quarter. It looks like the food got wet and was pressed together. I felt the food was compromised and I didn’t want to feed this to my kitten. I contacted Chewy and they were great, they agreed to exchange the bag. The next bag came the same way. Chewy again offered replacement, said they would reach out to Halo and also pull their warehouse stock with the same lot number. The third bag Chewy sent came the same way. I was beyond frustrated. I tried contacting Halo and received no reply. I don’t know how many bags Chewy exchanged for me but I am sure they were frustrated just like me. What’s going on with the quality of the food Halo is producing? I finally got ahold of of Halo and their basic reply was for me to get a refund from Chewy. What a disappointing response. At this time I am still waiting for a refund of my last bag if Halo that I returned to Chewy and I don’t know what I am going to feed Sam because everything is making him sick.

Kitten used to LOVE this, now is indifferent

I bought one bag of the salmon kitten food. My cat can have chicken but my dog who likes to try and finish the cats food has a chicken allergy so we tried this to be safe. The first bag ALL the cats loved, not just the kitten. We have 3 adult cats. They would come running as if I was pouring out treats. I ordered it again and now all the cats just ignore it. I’m not sure if they reformulated or what but bag #2 was not nearly as enjoyed as bag #1. The shape of the food pieces also went from cylindrical to more disc like. Probably will look for something else.

Kittens liked it. Only bad thing, it’s for kittens, and it has clumps of very hard pieces. Too big for kittens to chew. I removed the big chunks for fear of choking
