Questions & Answers

what size will fit on ducks?

Answer by ChewyAug 18, 2020
The EZ Leg Bands because the leg bands were designed with chickens in mind, so it is difficult to say for sure whether they fit certain ducks and geese. The best way to make sure they would fit the Muscovy ducks or large geese is to measure the circumference of their legs. The large EZ Leg Bands have a diameter of approximately 5/8 of an inch at the narrower end and 6/8 of an inch at the longer end (they're slightly oval in shape). They have an inside circumference of 2.25 inches. Please note that the bands are not designed to fit snugly, and should be removed from a growing bird's leg before the bird outgrows the band.

How do I get these off the chickens?

Answer by ChewyMay 15, 2021
To remove, squeeze band until connected ends release, or slide connected ends in the opposite directions.

What size fits Brahma chickens?

Answer by ChewyOct 18, 2023
For best results, we recommend measuring the chicken's leg and comparing those measurements to the millimeters provided. The small leg band is 11.112 millimeters, the medium leg band is 14.288 millimeters and the Large leg band is 17.462 millimeters.

What is the Inside Diameter of the small size? (in mm please)

Answer by ChewyAug 30, 2023
The Small measures 11.112 millimeters, the Medium measures 14.288 millimeters, and the Large measures 17.462 millimeters.

The smalls would fit between 3 and 5 weeks. Lack of color variation

Red was also a really poor choice here as chickens peck at red so couldn't use any of those which leaves 2 other colors. Waste of money

We love these bands. We have over 500 chickens. Some of them are specific breeds that we want to be able to tell apart. These bands STAY on (as long as they are correctly sized). They also don't seem to be too tight like others and are EASILY seen. They say you can write on them with marker - and you can, but we find that the marker comes off easily so we don't. We just go with a certain band color per breed or clan. These will fit a Maran hen or barred rock. Most chickens fit in the medium. Larger breeds do need the larger bands.

Easy but a bit pricey

Perfect for my chickens (isa brown and cinnamon queen). Easy to put on. Just pricey for some plastic.

very easy to put on

As lots of "city" people have small flocks, like myself, fewer than twenty four count would have been better... I only needed 2.

They were sized large for chickens such as Rhode Island Red and Barred Rock. They are much too large for my chickens. If I would have known I would have ordered medium. The directions said they should fit loosely but they still half fall off the chickens foot. I'm sorry I didn't order smaller ones. Other than that they are well made and bright colors.

Makes telling my chicks apart easier

It was a little hard getting the bands to snap closed, but other than that, no issues

Need more colors!

I love using these to tell our chickens apart but it would be nice if they came in more colors so I don’t have to double up on one chicken.

Good Quality, But Too Big

I bought these to band two feral pigeons that are being rehabilitated, so that we could easily identify which of them needed medication. The size chart on the product

I bought these to band two feral pigeons that are being rehabilitated, so that we could easily identify which of them needed medication. The size chart on the product said to buy size small for large pigeons, but they still just slid off the pigeons feet almost right away. Only giving 4 stars instead of 5 because of the sizing issue. Still a great product. We're using them for other, larger birds and they're working great.

Bright colors, easy to snap on

I use them for quick identification of same color silkies. They work well, haven't had one come off yet and it's been several weeks
