These treats are good size. I've got a picture of a 3 ounce cat food can so that you can use that for reference. A little bit hard almost like a rawhide. But my German Shepherd did not seem to have any problems devouring them. If you buy them for a smaller dog, you might have to break the treats in half for your pet. Good ingredients and being made in the United States is a plus. I think these are really good treats except for the price pehaps the company could give a little bit better treat packaging a Ziploc type bag? Instead of just a plastic bag for storage.

Rock Hard Burgers

I was really hoping these would be good as I love the name. I took the 1st bag out of the box and thought that the plastic bag they were in seemed veery stiff

I was really hoping these would be good as I love the name. I took the 1st bag out of the box and thought that the plastic bag they were in seemed veery stiff. I got my scissors so I could cut the bag. I realized then that it wasn't the bag. It was the treats. I thought I had grabbed something plastic. No, it was the actual treat. I couldn't believe how hard they were. With 2 senior dogs, one being a mini dachshund and the other a 35 lb.Catahoula Leopord, I knew they wouldn't be able to chew on these. I tossed 2 Hungry Howie's Burgers to my bigger Catahoula, who is also part Pitbull, to see what she thought. She sniffed, picked it up, dropped it, which sounded like a rock, and proceeded to somewhat chomp on it. It took her quite some time amd I listened to how it sounded as it hit her teeth. I still can't figure out if they are supposed to be this hard or were they actually burnt burgers. I guess the taste must be there because she ate it. She is definitely not a dog who will pick up stuff to chew on. I wouldn't think of giving my little guy one of these. And I don't think they would be safe for a large dog as they might swallow it whole and as hard as it is, they would choke. I tried to break them but couldn't manage to do so, I don't think I would recommend these to anyone. Maybe if they were a softer consistency as she liked the way it smelled and tasted.

I am absolutely loving these treats and politely ask for more! Even though they’re hard, that’s actually great for my teeth and I have had no issues at all, even though I am mature 8 1/2 years old. They are not smelly treats which is a win for my human. 2” is a perfect treat size. It’s gentle on my stomach, easy to digest, and those natural ingredients absolutely shine through. Happy Howie's 2-inch Beef Burgers Dog Treats sounded like the perfect treat for my senior dog. He has had "burger" style treats in the past and loved them, so I thought I'd give these a try. After opening the first of two large bags I thought they looked perfect for my medium sized dog. The treat isn't too small or too large. The scent is a natural meat scent. But when I tried to break it in half to tell the texture I was really surprised at how hard they are. I was very hesitant to give it to my senior dog in fear of him breaking a tooth. Yes, THAT hard. After reading the side of the box which states "monitor your pet when feeding these treats as blockage may occur if ingested in large pieces" I will not be giving these to my pet after today. Sorry Howie.

Difficult to Chew

The 2 inch burgers have a tantalizing smell that my dog is attracted to -- makes hunting for them a lot of fun for our "find the treat" game. He loves them, and they are corn and wheat free, high in protein, so they sound like a winner all around. But I would not get them again. Like many pet owners I prefer to break large treats down into smaller pieces to extend the treat giving or to fit them into the dog puzzles. These are hockey-puck hard, however, and will not break into pieces. My dog has some trouble chewing them and I do not think he is chewing them sufficiently. I recommend going smaller than you usually do if you buy the burger patty treats ( get the 2" for a large dog instead of the 4") or better yet -- get the "sticks" so the dog can chew on them over a period of 10 or 15 minutes instead of just gulping them down. The treat itself is great - but I think I picked the wrong shape and size for my dog given how hard these are. P.S. My neighbor's dog has no trouble with them -- she's larger and younger. And she loves me, because she is inheriting this box!

I really had high hopes for this product. The ingredients are fantastic, my dogs absolutely love the flavor - they smell just like jerkey and the ockage came with a substantial amount. However, they are SO hard - as in, I can’t even break them in half with my hands. My senior dog had a really hard time with these due to his old man teeth and I can see how these could easily become a choking hazard.

My dog loves these Happy Howie beef burger patties! The ingredients seem great so that’s a plus. The only thing I’m worried about (it’s just me being paranoid I suppose) is that these treats are pretty hard! I personally wish they were a little softer, but! My dog enjoys them, he has no problems chewing them from what I can see so to ease my mind, I soak them in bone broth and give it to him when they’re softer. Other than that, these are winners!
