Hi hoomans! 👋 It’s Oliver and Harper here, professional snack connoisseurs and full-time good dogs. We recently convinced our mom to order the Happy Howie’s 4-in Beef Sausage Dog Treats (80 count) from Chewy, and let us tell you — BEST. DECISION. EVER. From the moment Mom opened the bag, we could smell pure meaty perfection. These treats are real beefy, not that weird “mystery flavor” stuff. They’re soft enough for our corgi chompers but still chewy enough to make us feel like we’re earning something big. Mom loves that they can be broken into smaller pieces (we’re working on portion control… reluctantly 🐷). She uses them for training, bribery, and sometimes just because we’re adorable — which, let’s be honest, is often. Also, huge plus: they don’t make our breath smell bad, and they don’t crumble all over the floor. Win-win. So if your pup has a refined palate like us, Happy Howie’s beef sausages are a must-snack. We’ve already started sitting by the treat cabinet about ten times a day… just in case.

Sensational Meat / Protein Treats Approved By All!

I have one giant dog that takes her treat into a second room because the elder giant dog will try to get her treat otherwise. Well, for these, the elderly girl takes it all in her mouth, chews once. Then follows the giant puppy into the other room to rip the treat away before the baby can eat any of it. It is that fast. She cannot do anything else that fast anymore. Before we got a sealed bowl for them, we had to keep the sausages inside the microwave to make sure no one happened to be around when they mysteriously jumped off ths counter. The box is adorable! It is a large display box that makes the sausages look like they are in a butcher shop or grocery store. My pups finish them in a couple bites but I have an English Mastiff and a Dire Wolf (out of Oregon). They LOVE these and they get a high protein, grain free, premium dog food so they do tend to be picky. The puppy turns her nose up at anything that smells like “typical” dog food. So, I know that these treats ARE definitely special! These are not only a hit with the dogs but with me too. They do not disturb the girls’ stomach or GI systems. I feel good knowing that these seem to be better for them than other treats and seem as good for them as their food (especially when compared to other treats).

Calvin is an older 65-lb. bully mix and he loved these sausage treats--but too much! He practically swallowed them whole since they're pretty substantial with a harder consistency (not soft and chewy). So I then cut them up which helped but he still swallowed each piece whole. His stomach is fairly sensitive (he eats a prescription food that's easily digestible) so as I suspected, he did get some stomach upset. Unfortunately, these treats proved a little too tough for him to digest. However, my friend's young Golden Retriever came over for a visit and loved them without any digestion issues, so I think they'd be a great treat for a large, younger dog without GI issues. The quality ingredients and yummy taste definitely puts them a cut above so many other treats out there that are made with fillers and questionable ingredients. I think these treats would be great cut in half as training rewards for a young, larger breed dog.

Overall, my dogs are fans. At first sniff, they were a little hesitant, as the rosemary and garlic give it a kind of strong spiced smell. But they quickly decided it was worth trying, and ate the sausage up with no crumbs left. Two of my dogs had a little bit of a tummy ache afterwards (some stinky gas), so the sausages may be on the rich side for sensitive tummies. But the next time the sausages were offered, there was no hesitation to take them. Due to the size and the richness, they're definitely a special treat in our house, not an everyday treat. But the dogs love them, and I love the simplicity and quality of the ingredients.

My Aussie loves these 4” beef sausages from Happy Howie brand. He’s sitting and giving me his paw to “earn” a treat before I get them open. He likes the sausages because he can hold them in his paws and chew on them. Or maybe it’s me that likes watching him hold them while he’s eating. They are like beef jerky so he can’t just gobble them down. There’s no yucky odor and they aren’t messy. Made in the USA, great ingredients.

I did share them with our younger dog friends and they loved them. I also liked the fact that they did not use tendons or bi products in their recipe. These Happy Howie’s 4 in Beef Sausage Treats are a huge hit in my house! They’re the perfect size for a good reward. I love that they’re made with real meat and no fillers, you can actually smell the quality. My dogs go crazy as soon as I go to grab one! I also like that they don’t crumble or make a mess.
