So, i walk my cat everyday and he was well past due for his seasonal bath. He's a short hair blue and white with fur that is mostly guard hair and not very oily even during the winter time. I have used dish detergent in the past because of him and his sister having fleas as kittens as well as trying to keep costs down. I don't like how drying dish detergent is and knew i needed something better for their seasonal baths. I was hoping for something more moisturizing and that i might be able to use 1 time a month to help my boyfriend's allergies as well as my cat's allergies since he is sensitive to dust and also now a daily walker. Today my cat decided to roll in the dust pile i was sweeping up on my landing and turned his white fur gray. I used only about a dime sized amount of the shampoo for his 16 lb body and it did rinse out with only a couple pitchers of water, so it was very effective as well as quick to get out of his fur which can be a challenge for alot of cat friendly soaps. It does rinse out faster than dish soap but i was so disappointed that his fur looked dull and felt so dry. It seems it must be used with a conditioner which every minute of a bath routine for a cat makes it all the more hesitant for them to endure it again. This really isn't a good option for those who walk cats or need to bathe their animals more than 1 time a season because it can be very drying. I plan on opting for something with oatmeal or other hypoallergenic option. Pros: doesn't need to use alot to clean them and rinses out fast. Can be effective for the "urgent bathes" if they get into something bad Cons: very drying, makes fur look dull, not recommended for regular use. Will need a conditioner to make it ok
