Tried Heckova for my two large dogs and they gobbled it right up! They absolutely loved the taste. I really liked that it didn’t have a strong smell like some other foods, and I felt good knowing they were getting clean, high-quality ingredients. That said, it’s a bit too expensive to use as their full-time food for two large dogs, so we’re transitioning to use it as a topper. Still a great way to boost their meals with something nutritious they’re excited about. Highly recommend if it’s within your budget — especially for picky eaters or smaller dogs!

When I got this, I was just letting everyone inside while opening the bag to look at it. All 6 dogs went absolutely nuts jumping and barking just from the smell alone. I love that the pieces are slightly bigger than some kibbles because for little dogs, this is very helpful given it means no crushing up patties. They demanded some then and there and didn't care about water being added. Reminds me of something I used to get ages ago that I jokingly referred to as doggie popcorn due to the smell. Because of how this looks, I could see using it as a topper or for training treats if someone wasn't keen on using it as a full meal. I will be putting it in puzzle toys to see if I can get some of the lazier girls to be a little more active in food searches. I also have an underweight foster pup who will be getting a bit extra as added protein and calories so that hopefully we can have medical procedures performed on her sooner, assuming she can gain weight quickly enough to be healthy enough for anesthesia. Given it is freeze-dried, the price is reasonable as well. Also, it has one of the seals that looks a bit like Velcro, so it is very easy to open and close properly. Very impressed given I've never heard of this brand.

My pups recently had the luxury of trying, "Heckova's Bow Wow Beef Complete Meal Recipe". My pups went crazy for the food, which let's me know it's delicious. Of course I didn't try it myself, but it's very clear to me they enjoyed it! This product would be great as a complete daily meal for your dogs. There is feeding guidelines on the back of the product, which are very easy for any dog owner to follow. My dogs are are roughly 45lbs each, so they would be fed 4 cups per day each. I personally would break this up as 2 meal times of 2 cups each. This food is a nutritious mix of healthy raw ingredients that dogs need. This food really gives you confidence and peace of mind for the food your dogs are eating. As far as smells goes this one is not bad at all. I used this bag as treats for both dogs. My golden doodle can be picky or have allergic reactions and this one was a hit with no issues. She always gets extra treats after a grooming session. The only downside to this food is it is on the pricer side especially if you have a dog or dogs on the heavier end of the scale.

The size of the kibble is a little too large for my shih poo but he enjoys it once I break it up. I would recommend this product if within your price range, as it is a bit pricey.

One of them put some in his mouth and just spit it right out. I tried for numerous days in different ways tried using it asa treat. Still they would spit it out and not eat it so for me it’s a no go. They did not like it at all.

My dog enjoyed the food as he enjoys any food. However, the 20 ounce bag is ONE MEAL for our boy. I followed the package instructions exactly, added the water and all it did was sit in a puddle of water. It didn't seem to absorb it. I used it as gravy on the other dog's food. The ingredients read like they are great but at 39 bucks a meal it's a ludicrous luxury. I can see using a little bit as a topper but if your intention is to replace a meal with this expect a massive price tag.

I like the fresh smell and appearance of the Heckova! Bow Wow Raw Freeze-Dried beef food. It's easy to serve, just open the bag and pour. My three large dogs love the flavor. It makes a great topper for their kibble. Two of our three dogs, the two Aussies, are picky eaters, but all three clean their bowls when Heckova is in it.

The size is perfect—not too big, not too small—making them great for training or just a little snack. I also appreciate that they don’t crumble or make a mess. My dogs both love the bite size but obviously tasty pieces, but have not tried it as a complete meal substitute. I also use the bite sized pieces as a topper on their regular diet. Both dogs apparently love the taste.
