Like other reviewers mentioned it is dusty conpared to other hemp bedding, maybe its not washed? Does not seem to stay dusty just is when first unpacked. Did a good job in my chick brooder however.
This hemp is awesome for putting in your chicken house and it will keep down the poop smell significantly.
It was worth it I use it in my brooder and it drys fast and has little to no smells… by smell I mean of chicken/chick feces
Tried this in my quail hutch, didn't stretch far, didn't do much to reduce odor or moisture. I don't understand the hype over hemp bedding.
Our bunny seems comfortable in it, it does have some tiny particles but not much actual dust in my experience. It generally feels fluffy but also slightly prickly. Definitely absorbent, which is good. He still smells up his cage after a day. I just feel like it’s more comfortable than pellets, and better than hay because he doesn’t eat it. (We still give him hay on the side.)
I use this as a base in my rat cage under their softer paper bedding. It is excellent at extending the life of their bedding so I don't need to change their litter quite as often. However, I'm not sure if 99% dust-free means much in practice, because it is VERY dusty, even if only 1% is dust that is more than enough to irritate my nose on initially pouring it, and then over time there is a small buildup of dust around their cage as they forage and dig through the bedding, kicking up more dust.
I love this item! Now my rabbits can have litter that is eco-friendly! Better than any other litter for odor control! I’m a fan forever!
The description says 99% dust free. This is a lie. This bedding is extremely dusty and I'm hesitant to use it for my rats. There's probably 1-1.5 CUPS of dust in the bag. I normally use a different hemp bedding that has no dust. I will not be buying this again.
We read that Hemp bedding was awesome for chickens. Absolutely correct. Love the bedding and so does our Silkie Chickens.
I have already tried wood shavings, straw and pellets. The hemp over the top of a layer of pellets seems the best. Breaks down fast and keeps dust down
