This is not large & not a collar, though it sort of looks like one.
THIS IS SIMPLY AN "ATTENTION GETTER" & It works perfectly.
I personally do use as THE ATTENTION GETTER
You just simply (drop it on the ground) & the day dreamer or one who at the moment "isn't in the mood" for training, listening, or recall, or very distracted by other dogs DOES respond by giving you & the lesson attention again. In my case moving to live nearer my daughter... but my pretty well behaved & trained girl wants to follow the lead of their untrained dogs. So I purchased this & drop it on the ground (BUT NOT THROWN & NOT TOO CLOSE)& it does get her attention. Dogs can be scared or worse traumatized if it's thrown &/or too close.
My girl is 5yr & 65# mutt & I've had her 1 year. She had really terrible life prior & had been hurt too! She has come such a long ways & is feeling safe & provided for & LOVED. This is the IDEAL training tool I needed for her. Let her sniff it & the other dogs who are very little & a tiny one too sniff as well. Occasionally I drop from a few inches but a foot or 2 away. NO THREAT & try investigated more, etc.... Well not too long ago neighbor dogs & mube & the tiny one met & decided to fence fight. I called her, She ignored, 2nd time I'm pretty close & dropped it from about 2 feet & within a foot of her. She stopped, sat down, & walked with me tge other direction to inside. The tiny one I had to go back after & pick up to get him in. BUT PROGRESS without fear! So we continue practicing inside & outside. The neighbor man finally got his dogs into their dig yard & giant kenneled area too... with lots of yelling & no apparent visible training for his dogs then or prior? I like to prepare dogs, & do some kind of appropriate training every single day... minutes or longer as tolerated. This girl of mine is not my first big dog scared rescue with a sad past. I am not a trainer, just a dog lover, & older with plenty of time, patience & love to help them. THIS BRAND IS WELL WORTH IT! I've purchased their products before through the years. They provide the instructions & that's always been helpful. Anyway, I highly recommend, & when you get it just go slow. No scared dogs but gets their attention safely. Im working on all kinds of beginning training with the little ones too. 5 yr old & 12 yr old. I train with tons of praise & "little" treats for every size dog. SO glad I had it at fence fight too. Wasn't sure if those dogs could hop the 4ft fence... they're typically in a giant kenneled area 6ft high & a lid on it.
