HerpCult Acrylic Insect & Reptile Terrarium

This enclosure is near perfect. It provides plenty of space for my tarantula and has very nice features like a magnetic lid, plenty of ventilation, and an edge running around the top that supports the lid and discourages my T from climbing too high. One problem I have is the acrylic on the back side separated from the bottom so substrate was falling out. It was a simple fix with some packing tape and isn't visible so it's not a huge deal.

Exceeded my expectations. Our Mexican fireleg t. came with a critter keeper, but has a few molts to go before we'll need anything big(ger) for it. The critter keeper was old and sad so we had to get it something nice, this was perfect. No breakage upon delivery, the tank is acrylic and has plenty of ventilation holes. The top slides out and is secured with magnets-just make sure whatever you choose to put in it isn't a bolter. We bought two and don't currently have anything small enough to go in the second, so it makes for a nice baby cacti home right now.

Excellent size for creating an ecosystem for my Venus fly trap. Added live freshwater plants rooted in moss and fish tank water so time will tell. May add a frog or little lizard down the road.

I haven't had this very long. I bought to house a single hermit crab and noticed the sides are coming unsealed, especially near the sliding top.

I’m dissatisfied with this product for a number of reasons. The sliding door on the top is difficult to slide on a good day... I keep a tarantula in mine and they absolutely hate vibrating movements. The door shakes the entire enclosure. They sliding door also does not match up with the magnetic strip to lock it in place. The acrylic also came apart on the side so I have mine held together with duct tape... not the aesthetically pleasing enclosure I was hoping for. Save your money, get a critter keeper.

I'm very disappointed. I received two of these and was expecting the same excellent quality that I regularly get from purchasing HerpCult (I have been a customer for years now), but this batch seemed to be unfinished. The acrylic edges were sharp and unfinished, and the fronts broke right off of both of them. I'm waiting on some acrylic bonder so I can repair them. I hope this was just an issue with a small batch. If this degradation in quality is the result of HerpCult scaling up manufacturing, they won't have their excellent reputation for long.

The only thing I didn't like was that the bottom panel is solid white, you can't see through it and it smells weird. Other than that, this is a good price for these right now.

Used this enclosure for a juvenile tarantula. Great quality, would absolutely recommend and buy again.

I’m sure majority of the enclosures they send are perfect, I have 2 other arboreal ones that are great and don’t have anything weird about it. I noticed the weirdness of this particular box because it kept making a weird noise since I got it when I picked it up, I figured because it had a bigger lid. Turns out I’ve never noticed the corner edge where 2 walls meet, is actually not glued, you can see how the glue built up towards the bottom and didn’t bond the top of the edge. I know I can fix it but it’s simi a problem since I’m housing a tarantula and want to ensure the safety and security of the pet.

Got large with opaque top. Opaque top was.. on the bottom? So it didn't actually impact me seeing my spider. But it looks beautiful! Definitely worth the investment. Couldn't ask for better really. Looks SO much better than the storage bin we were using before. Really draws attention to the setup. Can't rate high enough!
