Is the on/off button supposed to be depressed down? How do I turn it on? Can not get to the tiny button.

The ON/OFF switch slides; it does not need to be pushed down. During normal operation, the ON/OFF switch remains ON. Turn OFF only when the collar is being stored and will not be used for days.

Can I use this to only operated the power pet door? Without having the fence system. The receiver that comes with the dog door is flimsy and not rechargeable?
