I have a picky senior kitty who is lazy and doesn't always stay hydrated. She has always hated Pate and will refuse to eat it no matter what I try, so when I saw Hills had tender chunks in gravy I decided to give it a shot. Since switching from primarily Hills dry food to primarily wet food she has a lot more energy and is excited for mealtimes again. If your kitty really likes the gravy but doesn't always eat the meat, I recommend using a fork and smushing the meat into small pieces so that it mixes well with the gravy. Once I started doing this my cat will now eat everything up. She likes the Tuna pouches a LOT more than the chicken pouches. When smushing the chicken chunks into smaller pieces, I noticed the meats a lot tougher than the tuna. My cat might not have liked that, so in the future I will probably just be buying the Tuna Pouches.
My non-picky cat became very picky when she was presented with this. I honestly have no idea how I'm going to hoodwinked her into eating the other 10 packets... I do *not* recommend this at all.
The chunks of meat a little big for my cat’s. However my cat’s are about 18 years old. They love the gravy in it.
My cat likes this product, but it’s messy as the gravy gets on things. I don’t use the whole packet at one feeding as it’s too much. It’s the second and third time that I get gravy spills.
I have an 8/9 y/o tuxedo kitty with gum issues that make it difficult for her to eat. The size of the portions in the bag were appropriate for her appetite and even though the pieces were a little big , they were easily separated and made smaller in the pouch before opening. The package was also easy to open . It would be nice to have the pieces 1/2 the current size to eliminate the step of pressing the pouch , but small price to pay for a food she consistently appears to enjoy.
My cat ate two servings and then refused to eat any more. I had hoped this would work for her.
None of the cats would touch it. Plus it smelled awful. Even the 20+ outside feral cats.
I have a cat the is such a finicky eater that it is difficult to find a food she will eat more than once. I had received a sample of this food and she loved it. I took a chance and purchased a box of Hill's SD tender dinners. So far my finicky eater is loving every morsel
I have two main things I consider when reviewing cat food- quality and will the cats eat it. This comes in big chunks in gravy. I would prefer the chunks be a little smaller. They do come out of the pouch easily and I don't have to spend a lot of time trying to scrape them out. The ingredients are ok, being water, chicken, and pork liver at the top, but then it is wheat flour and gluten fillers. So for my picky eaters, one cat licked up all the gravy but wouldn't touch the chunks, one cat ate a few chunks, and the last wouldn't touch it at all. So between 3 cats they don't even eat 1/2 of a pouch. Really it all comes down to the cat's preference, because the most important thing is to get them to eat, so give it a try if you want. I received a free sample in exchange for my honest review.
Order received quickly. Love you guys!! As always it was great. Cats love it.
