What is the difference between the small breed advance fitness and Hill's Science Diet Adult Small & Toy Breed Dry Dog?
Answer by ChewyJul 19, 2018
Both formulas have less than 1% difference in caloric, protein, fat, and fiber content. The Hill's Science Diet Adult Advanced Fitness Small Bites formula uses fresh chicken as the first ingredient instead of chicken meal and has an added blend of omega-6 fatty acids.

please compare the small bites chicken and barley food (science diet) vs. the adult chicken and barley formula (regular and large bites) as my puppy approaches 1 year and is between 25 - 30 lbs and I would like to transition from the puppy formula
Answer by ChewyMay 07, 2020
Both of these foods share the same exact benefits and ingredients. The only difference is that the Small bites formula offers a small kibble size.

My puppy is now a little over 1 years old & looking to purchase the adult small bites if the ingredients are the same in puppy and adults small bites size do I need to be slow on introducing the adult brand as far as for the stomach upset.
Answer by ChewyJun 01, 2019
A gradual transition to any new pet food is important to avoid digestive upset. To transition, it is recommend to mix your pet’s current food with the new food. Over 7 days, gradually decrease the amount of the current pet food while increasing the amount of new pet food.

What is the phosphorus content?
Answer by ChewyJul 14, 2020
This variety contains approximately 0.51% Phosphorus content on an as fed basis (0.57% on a dry matter basis).

It's a no go for this one

I tried to switch my female dog to this one from the Hill's puppy kibble after her last little of puppies but she just picked this kibble out and left it on the floor. My male hates it too. Not Chewy's fault, I guess it's the barley flavor? Not really sure. At any rate, she was spayed 4 days ago and I'll keep her on the puppy food until she is fully healed and deal with finding a suitable food then

Dog food isn’t just dog food

When it comes to science diet! My dogs 16 months and 16 years are both happy, playful and running laps in my farm yard.

my dog doesn’t like it anymore

My golden doodle is ho us 2 years old has been eating from the this brand since he was a puppy. He recently stopped eating it. He eats his other wet foods fine but for some reason doesn’t like this anymore :( Probably will just have to donate the kibble.

Having just adopted my 2cd pup, I’ve got to order for not only Bella but Bruno too. Hills Science Diet meets all the criteria for maintaining a good weight.

Highly Recommend for Medium-sized (22lbs -25lbs)

Hills is the only dog food my veterinarian carries (she carries therapeutic versions only). My Australian Labradoodle (my 1st AL) is a wonderful dog, but a VERY fussy eater which is annoying. He's only 2 yrs. old and 21 lbs. I had labrador retrievers for years and never had this problem. Before settling on Hills small bites, I tried 4 other well-known, respected brands and always ended up giving almost full bags to my neighbor or son. I'm convinced it's the AL breed, not the dog food, but this version of Hills has been working (and my vet highly approves of it), so I feel very comfortable recommending it.

Perfect food for her

This is our kibble for our mini Aussie/ Border. We had gone away and since we can’t get this food from our local pet food store, we ordered it and received it in 36 hours. Saved the day!

Mixing it Up

I've been adding the Hills Science Diet to Amy's kibble a little more each day. Her itching and general fidgetiness has completely gone away after about two weeks.
