How many cups in each bag size?

Answer by ChewySep 22, 2019
There will be approximately 4 cups of clusters per pound. The 1 pound bag will have close to 4 cups, the 5 pound bag close to 20 cups and the 20 pound bag close to 80 cups.

We are getting a new puppy, would the food clusters and/or dehydrated raw food be appropriate to feed?

Answer by ChewyAug 20, 2019
This recipe is complete and balanced for all life stages.

What is the temperature of the slow roasted process?

Answer by ChewyNov 10, 2019
The dehydration process for the meats and eggs takes place at temperatures above 120 degrees. All other ingredients are dehydrated below 104 degrees and are still considered raw, after drying, with the exception of potato flakes; these are dried using a slightly different process at 284°F for 5 seconds, which helps to break down the cellulose and make them more digestible.

Do I have to add water to these ?

Answer by ChewyNov 12, 2019
These food cluster do not require moistening before consumption.

My dog is older with arthritis and a very sensitive stomach. Once a certain food doesn’t work for her, she’ll never eat it again. Since switching to this food (we rotate turkey and chicken) her poops have been better, her energy is better, and she lost some weight. I’d been slowly cutting her food to help her drop some pounds she put on as a result of a steroid she needs to take. This food dropped her to a healthy weight and she’s now maintained that weight for several months. She still gets to eat a good sized portion (the steroid makes her hungry too). She squeaks her toy after every meal. Good food gets lots of squeaks and less exciting food gets only a couple squeaks, or no squeaks (genuinely it’s how she shows excitement so this is true). This food gets SO many squeaks sometimes it takes 20-30 minutes to stop. I top this food with some cooked chicken and goats milk or bone broth. People are right- the bottom of the bag is a powder/crumbles. When we start getting more powder in the scoops, I add warm water and mix it up and it turns it into a sort of gravy. She loves it!

I had been buying Honest kitchen and tried to change to a equally healthy dry food that cost $20 a bag less. My golden Millie was having no part of it. Went almost 2 days eating nothing. I was beginning to think she was ill. Re-ordered honest kitchen which Chewy got out to me very quickly and she is happy Dog again. During the time between I borrowed dog food from a friend that was also expensive human grade food to get her by. Loved Chewy's response and how they cared for my girl.

The bag had almost more powder than kibble in it. The kibble turns to powder when scooping it out of the bag. It’s terrible. I have to thoroughly moisten it so my dog doesn’t choke by inhaling the powder when eating. Also, you think it’s a good deal, but you have to feed your dog more of it than Orijen. I’d never buy again. I do, however, like the Honest Kitchen Wholemade Dehydrated Fruit and Veggie Base/add your own protein.

Just like everything else in life; you get what you pay for. Often the highest quality pet food doesn’t taste good and our pets only eat it because they have no choice. It’s virtually impossible to find dog or cat food of the highest possible quality of nutrition , and our pets will actually enjoy eating it. That said, tastes vary from person to person and pet to pet. Have 4 large breed dogs and 3 of them like this and the forth isn’t thrilled but he’s a very pick eater and he will eat this, and most kibble he won’t touch. I use this brands dehydrated powdered dog food, just add water and I put it over their kibble. This brand is HUMAN GRADE, and after I add water to the dehydrated Honest Kitchen Chicken before putting it on the kibble, it smells and looks good enough for me to eat, so no wonder my pets love it. Our pets would always rather eat what we’re eating than their pet food, and THE HONEST KITCHEN brand is just like feeding them something we would eat. Both their kibble and the dehydrated are very dense and go a long way. It’s very heavy with a little added water, so you end up using less product. I think the price is very fair for the quality and how long it lasts, in comparison to other brands.

I have a Golden Retriever who gets allergies with food. I have bought all kinds of brands off food and all make her skin allergic and cause diarrhea. The only food she can eat is The Farmer's Dog food which is expensive or The Honest Kitchen which is better for my pocket and she loves it. Same thing with my Golden Doodle at first I got her Stella grass-fed which the ingredients looks good but she had non-stop diarrhea so I switched her for the Honest Kitchen the first day I had feed her I was scared of the diarrhea coming back but nope she had the perfect poop I haven't seen in a while. Love love The Honest Kitchen. If I could give them 10 stars I would

Healthy. Must add water.

We were happy to find a food grade, healthy choice dog food for our chihuahuas. This food seems to be easily digested and the girls eat it up as fast as they can

I got some 1 lb bags to make sure he liked it and he did but when I opened this bag the clusters are crumbs and small pieces. He won't eat the crumbs so I'm having to pour the food through a colander and strain it before I give it to him. Strangely the beef bag that came at the same time as this, in the same box, was fine so this was apparently mishandling before shipment. This would be five star except for the condition.

I don't ever review products, but this deserves a million stars. I have the pickiest dog (husky & german shepherd) and he has been very ill. He has been living off of us playing a guessing game of what treat/meat will he eat today & refusing any kibble. This was honestly a long shot that I figured would be added to the long list of things he doesn't like, BUT he ate 5 small bowls. I appreciate the small bags so we could try it without breaking the bank. Would recommend trying!!!
