What size are the clusters? I have very small senior yorkies.
Answer by ChewyJul 26, 2019
Whole Food Clusters are similar to an average size of kibble, although there is some variation in size due to The Honest Kitchen's gentle manufacturing process.

Is it freeze dried raw or cooked ?
Answer by ChewySep 13, 2019
This food is cold-pressed and then slow-roasted and dehydrated.

Once this bag is open how long is it fresh and at its best quality? Does the bag seal easily unlike the dehydrated foods?
Answer by ChewyNov 11, 2019
The Honest Kitchen foods have a shelf life of twelve to twenty four months, depending on the product, the ambient temperature and humidity where you live. The date of manufacture is printed on the top of every box in a specially designed 'tear out and keep' card. This bag should seal easily.

This food has a Calcium content of 1.50% and a Phosphorus content of 1.01%.

Quality concern

I bought a small bag of the Turkey grain free to try out. My dog loved it. There were some crumbs, but sometimes you get that in other dry foods, too. So, I bought another 4 bags. Because 20 pounds is way too much and pretty expensive. These bags have larger clusters, and they are a different color. I guess I I will have to see if the dog likes the slightly larger clusters. I'm fairly disappointed in the quality consistency. Either something wasn't right in the first bag or the second purchase of 4. The fist purchase has an expiration of 4/24. The bag purchase has an expiration of 11/23. Shouldn't that 2023 expiration date been shipped out first?

Good enough

So I'm reading reviews of those who say the receipe has changed and there are less veggie clusters compare to the original. Idk if it's the shortage or what it sucks to know that maybe that's why my pup isn't crazy about it. He'll still eat them if needed and he poops well with this food. Just wish he would eat it more often. And yes, even the small bag I purchased also had quite a lot of crumbs/dust as well.

Rip on bag.

Not sure why but the inside of my bag had a cut/rip. Once I opened the bag it was noticeable. I’m not sure if I’m gonna feed my dog it but I thankfully had also gotten the chicken whole grain one along with this one so he’ll be eating the chicken one only. Please check packages before delivering them.

Downgraded quality

Honest Kitchen has definitely downgraded their quality. I started my dog on Honest Kitchen only a year ago and at first, I could actually see small bits of carrots and some greens. Over the past 3 or 4 months, the quality has been downgraded and now it's so dry and crumbly! Almost 20% of the bag is now powder! I thought it was just the chicken flavor, so I switched to turkey and it was the same. Then, I just switched to beef and it's the same too! At this point, I'll just have to switch to a different brand.

Great for finicky dogs

My finicky dog loves this food. We have tried dozens of brands over the years and this is the first he has been willing to eat longer than a week.

Life changing food for you pup

This food was recommended by my dog nutritionist. Not only did my Dobies skin condition clear up, but she ended up with a calmer demeanor.

Disappointed

So disappointed to see this once fine dog food company (still don't think they have a good feline formula) go the same way as some of the crummy cheapy foods, ie, potatoes, peas & lentils all in a row. From day one haven't been impressed with their kibble formulas & don't think the dry ones are the same. We still use the dry ones but was trying to help my son find something for his chihuahua. This won't be it.

Full of crumbs

This is a wonderful brand that my dog loves but this bag of kibble was filled with kibble dust. I'm not sure what happened to this bag but it must have been dropped over and over. It's so dry and dusty I'm afraid my dog will choke on it.

Beware that this kibble is different

I ordered two bags and what I received in the past is not what I got today. For so e reason it says Small Batch and the kibble is way different, see photos. Not happy. The back od the bag is what it normally looks like. The normal stuff I have been buying is great, I just don't know if Honest Kitchen messed up the food or what. We were enjoying this food as it was great for my bloodhound. But now I don't know what is in that bag!

Crumbles into powder

This kibble doesn't stay a kibble, it quickly crumbles down into a powder. Have needed to soak it in water so my dog doesn't inhale the dust and start coughing. Would not buy again.
