My horse didn't really care about it but it's my dogs favorite toy. Works for fetch and tug plus it floats and can't be popped! If you let them just chew on it they will destroy it but using as just fetch time works great!
Big tough toy for a tough little dog
We had a Jolly Ball for many years for our 110 lb chocolate lab. Years after he was gone, our newest pup was introduced to the old Jolly Ball when he was only 6 months old and 15 lbs. He loved it. For reasons unknown the beloved Jolly Ball disappeared. I just ordered a new one and when I got it I thought, whoa, this is way too big! ("for horses of average size"). At 10" it seems bigger than our old one but then again our dog is much smaller at just 40 lbs. He loves rough housing with the big ball and trotting around with it like a prize. The heft of the ball itself appears somewhat lighter and the handle isn't solid as I recall it used to be. I'd recommend it as a great toy for throwing, wrestling or mauling. Dogs or horses!
What happened to the quality?
I purchased three of these Jolly Balls for our shelter dogs. One of our longer stay dogs really loves playing with these. The ones we've had before have lasted several weeks even with our tougher chewers. The green one I purchased with ripped in 30 seconds! Torn to pieces in 5 minutes! Scarlett (picture) is wondering why it's hitting the trash so soon. Seems like these are made of thinner and softer material that doesn't stand up to the chewers. Really disappointed because I've been impressed with the durability of these Jolly Balls in the past. I sure hope the other two I have are better quality. :-(
This jolly ball has been my black lab puppy’s favorite toy since he was about 4 months. After a few modifications. 1 the handle was ripped apart in a matter of minutes. Had to keep cutting it till there was no handle left. Besides that he loves this ball and will be buying more after this one gets destroyed. 3 months later and still having fun.
My girl loves these Jolly Balls. She's a cattle dog and they last for quite a while with her. I will be ordering again just not in this color.
Doberman loves this
My Doberman absolutely loves this ball! We actually tied it to a tetherball pole and he is out there forever jumping and chewing on it!
Favorite ball for Boxer
I have an 18month male boxer who loves his new ball, and he has not been able to damage it. When he bites it, it goes back to the round shape.
Not just for Horses any more .
I Received my order VERY Quickly , Two days after I ordered it. Mine is not for a Horse, I have English Mastiffs, They Love these Jolly Balls , But of course they Do get chewed up.
Jolly balls for fun
Jolly balls entertain German Shepherd Dogs for long periods of time. Keeps them moving and chasing the ball. One of the best toys ever for GSDs.
My Sheepadoodle has destroyed every ball we’ve given her but not this one. She loves carrying it by the handle.
