Stiff Material and too small

I was looking for protection for my horse from spur rubs and this was all I could find. Despite being labeled "horse" sized, this was at least 6 inches too short

I was looking for protection for my horse from spur rubs and this was all I could find. Despite being labeled "horse" sized, this was at least 6 inches too short to get around the barrel of my 16.3 TB. I was hoping for a soft stretchy material like a slinky but this is like a wide band of stiff elastic. I don't think it would have been comfortable for my horse to wear due to the scratchy material which didn't even really conform over the backbone. This item was returned.

My barn mate has the expensive version if this product, and this one is virtually the same item. It fit my horse well, and stays in place. My horse is closer to

My barn mate has the expensive version if this product, and this one is virtually the same item. It fit my horse well, and stays in place. My horse is closer to a cob size, but the full size fits well; very stretchy with lots of adjustability.
