Feeding Instructions
Adult :Feed 3/4 - 1 - 1/4 cans per 15 lbs of body weight per day.
Puppy: Feed up to twice the Adult amount per day.
Gestation and Lactation: Feed up to 3 times the Adult amount per day.
For Combination Feeding: Feed 1/3 cup less dry food for every 1/2 can of wet food.
Adjust the amount of food you serve based on the age, size and activity level of your dog. Food should be fed at room temperature. Promptly refrigerate the unused portion.
A slow transition will be the easiest. Plan for the process to take about a week. Days 1 and 2, mix 25% of the new food in with the old food. If the change is tolerated well, increase the transition to 50% new food. Continue for a few days then increase the new food to 75%, then 100% after a couple more days. Be sure to mix the “old” food with Hound & Gatos – don’t offer each food separately. If transitioning from kibble, you can just add the can as a topper to the kibble. If loose stools occur, keep the ratio of old/new food at the current ratio for a couple of days until the stools firm back up.
