I don't think this is worth the price. It is an over priced sweeter. It isnt a ski coat or a coat for that matter. I wouldn't wear this in the snow, rain or the dead of winter. It will keep them warmer & this would be good under a coat but if your little fur babies are being walked, you have to remember they are closer to the ground & get colder then us. It isnt the easiest to put on either.. but to each its own.

This Hurtta coat was really effective when we had single digits in the Midwest and allowed our pup to go outside, with another fleece layered underneath. He was safely able to go out short periods of time, a challenge for a 10 pound dog rescued from Alabama! It takes time to get the coat right, adjusting all the snaps & cords, but it's worth it to keep you dog safe outside and permits them to relieve themself without soiling. Measure carefully with a fabric measuring tape.

I have been a hurrta fan for close to a decade. I have the Explorer parka for over 6 years with no problems. We have the foil lined warmer and aside from a couple stitching issues, it's going strong for 4 years. We had to return the snowsuit because it didn't fit well on his rear legs, but it seemed phenomenal. My issue is with this fleece "mid layer". It's just a tiny bit thicker than the warmer. Also, the rear legs have an MC Hammer style to them. It would have been better for them to keep with the "foil warmer" style, just making it much thicker and have the same fit.

Perfect jacket...except the sizing!

I live in Chicago and take my dog on 60-90 minute walks daily. he's starting to get up there in age and I noticed him shivering a bit more so I bought this for him. it's going to be perfect once we get the right size! according to the chart my 30lb jack russell/pit mutt should be an 18; I ordered a 16 and an 18 and both were too big. Ignore the size chart and go down two sizes - there is no way my dog should fit in anything that's labeled for a Westie! The actual item is great and worth the wait for an exchange - it's fleece lined, not super heavy (will fit under a harness), and has a couple elastic drawstrings to help with fit. I'm excited to take him out in it once we get one that fits.

I have this mid layer, the thinner suit, and the extreme overall with the eco mudventure rain suit on the way. My dog has short single layer fur and I keep my house cold in the winter to save on heating so he wears the thinner suit around the house and in 45° weather. The mid layer is light enough to wear around the house and should be comfortable down to 30's or maybe even lower if he's active. Once it gets to the teens or if he's lower activity, I layer another coat on top.
