This heats my 3 gallon tank very well. The only thing I don’t like is that there’s no stopping point for the heat level. When I first put it in and came home from work, my fish tank was at 85 degrees and I normally keep it around 78. The fish were fine but it frightened me a bit to realize it could potentially have been bad.

I got this for my betta and his 2 mystery snails tank mates. At first it worked pretty good (not great), after a week I noticed it was struggling to keep the water at 75 (betta and snail like 75-80). Now I stated notacing that my betta wasn't wanting to eat and he was sluggish. Looked at the temp of the water it was 70 felt the water yep cold then felt the heater just Luke warm. Yeah now I have to get a new heater before all 3 die. Please if you love your fish like I do don't get this pay a little bit more for a heater that will take care of them.

  • Works great on a timer

    By on

I purchased this heater for my new 3 gallon betta tank. I buried it under the gravel in the bottom of the tank so it would not be seen, only the cord running off of it. Since it runs constantly I have plugged it into a timer for it to run about 6 times a day for about an hour each time. Our home is heated with wood so we do not have a consistent temp day and night. This setup seems to work great and he is happy and warm.

  • Decent heater

    By on

This is a decent heater for very small tanks. Not good for anything more than 2 gallons but good for small betta tanks.

  • Happy warm betta!

We bought this to go in our Koller Aquaview Corner Aquarium that houses my daughter's betta. He LOVES being warm! He really perked up and has quite the personality now. I am curious to see if it ends up being too warm for the Marimo moss ball but if it is we'll just take that out. Great product!

  • Doesn't do what it claims

    By on

This heater claims that it will keep your tank water at about 6-7 degrees warmer than the room temperature. NOT. My house stays around 68 degrees and the tank stays around 70-71. Waste of money. Need to go buy a "regular" adjustable heater.

  • aquarium Heater

    By on

I have a 3.5 gallon betta aquarium. This heater was a great price, and worked great...for a few days. After about a week, the water temperature fluctuated about 8 degrees up and down throughout the day. I ended up buying g a different heater from a local pet store.

  • Works as directed!

Brought my 2.5 gallon tank for my betta up from 71 to 78, just what I needed. The only thing im picky about is it sticks out with a curve to it- it'd look nice if i had one of those giant 3 gallon bowls, though.
