Instructions
How should I install my Theo Heater - Aquarium Heater?
Apply the supporting suction cups to the heater and place the product thus assembled inside the aquarium in an area with a good recirculation flow, so as to guarantee maximum efficiency, an even distribution of heat and greater accuracy.
How far should I submerge the Theo Heater - Aquarium Heater?
You can position the heater anywhere you like - just make sure the product is fully submerged or that the water level is above the point labelled “WATER LEVEL - TAUCHTIEFE - NIVEAU D’EAU - LIVELLO DELL’ACQUA”, visible just below the head of the heater.
Does the Theo Heater - Aquarium Heater stay on all the time, or does it switch off automatically?
The heater has a light that comes on only when the water temperature is below the desired level and the heater comes on. As soon as the water reaches the set temperature, the heater maintains that temperature automatically, and the light goes off.
What precautions do I need to take?
- Before carrying out any maintenance, or before putting your hands into the aquarium, remove the power supply from all the electrical devices under water.
- Check that the various components, such as the glass test tube, cable and plug, are not damaged. If they are damaged in any way, do not connect them to the electricity network.
- Check that the voltage indicated on the label of the device corresponds to the mains voltage.
- Do not plug in the device until it is under water.
If the water is still much colder than the desired temperature after the heater has been installed for 24 hours or more, what can I do?
- Check that you have set the temperature correctly.
- Check that the device is plugged in and that the electricity is working.
- Check that the heater is submerged below the line indicated with the words WATER LEVEL.
- Check that there is good water recirculation in the area the heater is placed in (if necessary point the jet of the pump towards it).
- Check that the difference between the temperature set and the temperature of the room the aquarium is located in is within the limits indicated in the table in the instructions.
- Check that the capacity of the tank is within the limits indicated on the label on the heater.
- Check there is no limescale or foreign bodies on the glass. If this is the case, pull out the plug and remove the limescale from the heater.
- Check the quality and precision of the thermometer: some thermometers on the market do not give very accurate temperature readings.

It worked great for a couple months. Fast forward. Noticed my tank was holding a higher temp than it should. I had dialed it back to 75 but it registered at 84. I kept dialing it back and even got to the point I was leaving off lights and blowing a fan at the tank to cool it. Other day while I was out of town, hubby suddenly notices my fish acting odd struggling for oxygen. He didn't know how to help the little guy. He took out the heater and it was HOT to the touch he said. He had a heat gun that told him the temperature of the heater was at 95 degrees and the water in the tank (by his read and the thermometer read) was at 88. He removed the heater. Little late and my fish struggled for a while before passing. When I returned home I looked over the heater. Burn marks all over it. Biggest mistake I've ever made for my fish was absolutely buying this heater and thinking to not check other reviews. Please heed my warning and RUN don't walk FAR from this brand.

I bought it last year and never used it (it got too warm by the time I got it) so I took it out the box this year and have been using it maybe a week. Checked on my turtle this morning to find the heater has shattered inside the tank. Very dangerous for not only myself but what I’m worried about this most, my turtle..

Ordered because I wanted a heater for my 5 gallon tank that I could adjust. I didn’t read all the reviews. My experience was similar to most of theirs. I set the heater to 79 and went to bed. Next morning I found it had heated to 84. First, I adjusted it to 75, but it still wanted to turn on. So, I unplugged the heater and waited several hours for the water to cool down to 79. Then, I turned the heater setting to 68 and plugged it back in. Over the course of 2 hours, I turned up the heater setting a degree or two until I knew it was keeping the water a consistent 79. That setting, for me, was 75. For looks, I love it. It’s slim and modern. Price was great. But, just be aware of it’s possible issues and keep an eye on it until you’re confident it’s working properly.

This aquarium heater worked great for a few months. The design and appearance are great, but after a while I noticed that even if I had it on its lowest setting (68) it kept my tank was stuck at 82 degrees F... didn't hurt the fish at all, but had I owned fish that enjoyed a slightly cooler temp, I would've been in trouble.
waste of money

My experience with this product was very DISAPPOINTED after buy 4 units "1 per aquarium" fully submerged in less then 2 months 3 units just burn . I call the manufacturer and they have a only 30 days guaranty. And the last unit is a PAIN,,NEVER KEEPS THE RIGHT TEMPERATURE,,NOT A RELIABLE BRAND!!!!!
I don't trust other heaters
Sad they seem to be phasing them off of Chewy. They are all I use and so far they always seem to maintain the correct temps.
