Iams Proactive Health Long Hair Care with Real Chicken & Salmon Adult Dry Cat Food

This Iams dry food is the bomb-diggity for long haired kitties!

I recently purchased this Iams Proactive Health for Long Hair with Chicken and Salmon. Ash loves it! He instantly liked it (and he is kind of a picky eater). After about a week or so, I noticed that his coat was softer and shinier! He also seems to shed less, which is a plus, because he sheds a lot!

Formula Change?

I have 2 long hair cats and my 2 year old was doing great, rarely had hairballs, ate only this food for a year. The last 2 bags I've gotten she has vomited hairballs frequently. I couldn't find anything online about a formula change, but that's the only thing that makes sense. I will not be purchasing this again.

It works

Marley has a thick undercoat that matted no matter how much I combed. It took about 3 weeks to notice the difference but this food works. Best of all, he likes it.

Sofa...so good....!

We have our paws crossed. Our kit-bits seem to love this - that's a good thing. Now...we wait to see how this affects their hairball output and fur in general.

Taming a stomach

My Vet recommended this food to help my long haired cat that had been throwing up a lot. It has helped her tremendously.

Not my decision

IAMS is our pantry staple dry cat food for all five unique housecats. I have two long hair breeds and just one of those sheds A LOT. There's nothing crunchy nor yummy about these either because these pieces are TOO SMALL to chew and my cat would rather not make the fuss. He's been swallowing these pieces whole one by one and losing weight. He'll pass on this bag.

What happened?

I've had great success with this food until the last bag I purchased. My cats have done nothing but vomit since I opened it a few days ago, it's now in the trash. It also has a different odor to it. I won't be buying this again!

wow yesssss

I have 2 longhairs, even with brushing they will get hairballs. I tried this product and just wow, I haven't seen any hairball issues in over a month and they are so soft, silky, luxurious, it is so wonderful to pet them even more now and they are not complaining. Even my old constipated short hair eats this and is doing well, feeling silky smooth. also outside ferals get some as they are putting on their winter coat, they are bushy but oh soooo soft. Worth trying. Get a small bag and slowly add it into their current food. we mix theirs in with other food.

caused pancreatitis

The cats loved it but one of them ended up with pancreatitis. She got so very sick, not to mention the $1,000 in vet bills to help her. She’s going to be okay but that was terrible.
