Is there any sodium? What is the recommended amount of fish to give as a daily treat?
Answer by • Jun 24, 2019
A 100-gram serving of Capelin contains approximately 60 milligrams of sodium, which is naturally occurring. While there is no limit on how many to feed daily, it's recommended to only feed these as a treat.
Are these cooked / smoked?
Answer by • Jun 03, 2019
These treats are air-dried in a similar process to those practiced by the Icelandic Vikings in 900 A.D.
Can this be given to cats as well as dogs?
Answer by • Sep 11, 2019
These treats are specially formulated for dogs.
What is the shelf life once opened. I have purchased these previously, but the last bag really smells “oily”
Answer by • Jan 13, 2020
Each bag will be slightly different based upon the number of male or female Capelin in the bag. A bag that has more female Capelin in it will contain more oil and will appear softer with a stronger smell. This is totally normal and is actually a good thing as the product contains a higher level of Omega oils. The unopened bag is shelf-stable for 2 years at least. After opening, and if properly re-sealed between treatings, the Capelin will last at least 2 to 3 weeks.
