Can the sign be removed from the frame so it can be hung on the front of a door? (I don't have a yard to stick it in.)

The sign cannot be removed from the stake, however, we also carry the Imagine This Company "Rescue Our Pets" Decal. It comes in a pack of two so that you can display them on either side of your home, and the weatherproof plastic and UV ink will stay legible through rain and shine.

what size is the sign? info says 18x8, which I don't understand because it is an octagon shape, the measurement should be the same on all sides, ie. 18x18 or 8x8

The sign has a width of 8 inches, the post is 18 inches tall.

What are the dimensions of the sign & post for the mini?

The Mini sign measures 3.75 x 5.5 inches, with an 8 inch stake. The Standard sign measures 8 x 8 inches, with an 18 inch stake.
