One of my cats has heart disease and she is on a regimen of pills twice a day. For about a month, she was happily gobbling her pill pockets, but then she caught on to me and started spitting out the pills, then stopped eating the pockets. I was having to shove them into the back of her throat and this is no way for us to live. Cats love Churru, so i tried these. Perfect so far! They are small, though. I push them in with a cocktail spear, but you could use a paperclip/hairpin or something similar to shove them in. I tried a cheapo wooden chopstick but it was too large and made a mess. Be gentle, or the filling will come out the other side. She doesn't do any fancy tongue work with these. The only con is that you need to clip the tubes closed or they dry out fast. And i could definitely prefer a bulk size.
Once again Churu does it. These bites are smelly and sticky to the hoomans. But the feline community says otherwise. My girl ran to her spot so fast and gobbled them up. Only complaint is the tubes have so many in them. I only give about 4 to 5 pieces at a time. So I used a chip clip to secure the tube for next treat time. Got about 3 days worth of treats from one tube. Worth it!
The flavor is good, my cat ate them no problem. But then overnight she threw up the treat with all of her dinner. You could see the treat in there, it was the only part not digested! She rarely throws up. I won’t be feeding her these again.
Zoey, my 10 year old rescue, takes a pill twice a day. She started to run and hide when it was pill time. Since I bought these, I have no issues with her. The center of these treats is creamy and very easy to hide a pill. In fact, Zoey actually starts crying for her pills/treats about an hour before she's due.
My 9yo boy loves the Churu tubes so I thought I'd see if he likes these treats as well...no surprise, he loves them. My only complaint is that there are multiple treats in a non-resealable tube so you have to dispense all the treats in the tube at one time, which is a problem for us as we are always battling weight issues. Otherwise these treats a great and were very well received.
I should probably rate this lower because 2 of my 3 don't recognize it as edible, but the 3rd thinks it's absolutely the best treat he's ever come across. He's an older Maine Coon and yesterday he stood up on his back feet and danced when I was getting a few of these out of the packet, so I've rated it from his perspective. Ingredients are decent, he loves them.
Great product. My veterinarian highly recommends it as a more healthy treat. My only complaint is that it was packed UNDER a heavy box of cat food, so the package was rather flatter than it ought to be. But I assume my cat will be just as thrilled as ever with the taste.
I have bought this brand (Inaba Churu) in the squeeze tubes & my cat really likes those. So I gave these a try & my cat dislikes them!
My cat starts salivating as soon as she sees me opening the package. I highly recommend any of the Churu products.
Pro: my bengals LOVE these! First time out of the package and they devoured them almost without a sniff! Con: they are really gooey/messy/ stinky! You have to wash your hands thoroughly after handling and no way do I want them on my floors.
