He likes it
Ricky: Enjoys a nap in the sun, early morning hunts and the chicken recipe. I was skeptical when I purchased it and use it for treats. His previous treats were causing him to gain wait. I am on my 2nd bag and have been very pleased.
Not my cat's favorite
I purchased this product because I am trying to improve my cat's diet by eliminating grain in his food. When I serve this food to my cat, he will eat one or two pieces and won't touch it after that. He will eat his other food instead. I tried to rehydrate it to see if that would help, but my cat would just drink some of the water and leave the food. I personally could not stand the smell of this food after rehydrating it and threw it away as soon as I saw that my cat was not going to eat it (a few minutes from serving).
Cat won't touch
Unfortunately my cat won't have anything to do with this. The freeze dried food I was using hasn't been in stock for a while, so I thought I'd try this one. I have tried to get her to eat it, but she literally avoids it like the plague. I wish there were samples of things to try instead of having to get a whole bag of something only to be stuck with food you can't use. I'm sure this is good food for a cat, but for whatever reason, my cat does not like it.
I tried about 10 other brand cat foods for my 13 year female bengal with no success. I believe she has IBS and her stool was like mud for the past two years. As soon as I gave her this cat food, here stool become completely normal and she started acting normal again. I cannot express how happy I am that I finally found a food that my cat is back to her normal self again.
Wish it came in more flavors!
All three of my cats love this food! They don't seem to get tired of it. Two of my cats are extremely finicky, so sometimes getting them to eat their canned food is difficult. I pulse the Nature's Variety freeze-dried kibble in the blender until it is bread-crumb consistency, and keep it ready in a Mason jar. If the cats turn their noses up and refuse to eat canned, I mix some of the freeze-dried crumbs into their food, and they will always eat.
Even though this food smells wonderful, it looks kind of odd and my kitty will not even try it. Even if she did, the texture is such that I don’t think she would like it. I know it’s healthy and I wish she would eat it, but she won’t.
Solved my kitten's digestive issues
My new kitten had persistent diarrhea, which did not go away after two courses of antibiotics prescribed by the vet. I suspected that she may have sensitivity to food ingredients, but did not know what type of food to try. I was recommended to feed her a raw diet, and I bought Instinct Freeze-Dried cat food to try. My kitten and my other cat love this food, and my kitten's digestive problems resolved right away. I also appreciate that this food is freeze-dried, so it does not need to be stored in a freezer and thawed every time I have to feed my cats. This food is pricey, but so far it has been worth it for me.
Within days of switching my 9 yr old cat from dry kibble to Instinctbraw freeze dried her fist became softer, smoother and not so dry. Her temperament is better and she stopped coughing up fur balls and vomiting up her undigested food
Expensive for such a small bag
My cats seem to love it. I'll probably keep buying it for snacks but not everyday meals. It's really expensive for such a small bag. But that's on me for not reading the size in the description.
Alternative to dry food
My diabetic cat is on a low carb wet food diet. I give him the Instinct raw diet freeze dried as a supplement to his diet. If in the middle of the night he is hungry he has something to munch on. The other cats like it too, either dry or mixed with a liquid.
