Do I need to add water with the food? Is the same that the bites, that I saw on a YouTube review, when the lady defrosted, and added water?
Answer by ChewyDec 03, 2020
This food does not require water to be added. It can be added as a way to add moisture to your cat's diet.

My Cat is Happy!!!

I am a new cat owner and I am transitioning my cat from dry food. This is great for her, I prep her plate and let it sit in some water before feeding to help her get more moisture in her diet. I will sometimes mix in a small portion of wet food or have wet food on the side. This is her favorite and the Instinct toppers go great with it! Very pleased with the ingredients and texture. Feeding instructions are easy to reference on the bag. I also use pieces that have soaked in water to help hide pills when needing to give my cats medicine.

Good for my kitty with hyperthyroidism

Let all of my cats try it, and none rejected it. However, I bought it primarily for my hyperthyroid kitty. It has none of the toxic sodium selenite, and no kelp (iodine), and not a bunch of junk in it. He likes it, even dry, and it helps him make solid poops. Phosphorous level is somewhat higher than I usually go for to avoid kidney issues, but not extreme. I also wish it were less expensive so I could include it in the diet for all of my cats. (I feed both wet and dry.)

good quality bad execution

So the ingredients are good, this is expensive if you’re only feeding your cats this. This is a superior choice to kibble for many reasons, we completely cut kibble out and have our cats eating this in a very small amount as a snack and a wet food only diet for health factors given cats really should be eating wet food as their main/only food source. We just wanted something that they could have that was healthy and light for a few nibbles in between their breakfast and dinner wet food. So a very good option if you wanna feed similarly. They’re both a healthy weight and have great skin and fur health. Living their lives the way an obligate carnivore should. The ONE downfall is the size. I literally have to cut the entire bag with a knife on a cutting board to get it to a size they will eat. Other than that it’s such a healthy choice for a SNACK, again this is not a meal for them it’s Just supplementary to their 3 oz breakfast and 3 oz dinner. I recommend this for that style of feeding.

Cats LOVE them

My 2 cats love these things! I crumble them on top of their wet food and they gobble it up. They are softer than I thought they would be and don't know about using instead of dry kibble. But they are a great food topper. Will definitely be buying these again!

Product a little too big

Big chunks for a cat to be enticed but easily cut in half or crushed. Some of the 6 ate it but were not impressed so I crush it up and mix it with wet food for added protein. Yes, I might recommend it for the ingredients, but you have to play with it if your cat doesn't take to it.

Tasty raw meals!

I've been trying to find good but healthy food for my cats and I happened to come across this food. My 1 year old cat definitely prefers this over the IAMS kibble I've been giving her for months, so I give it a 5/5! The only thing that I don't like about this is that it's pretty pricey haha.

Flexible Freeze Dried

I feed my 3 cats wet food in the morning and leave them kibble in the evening. I add a little water to rehydrate the Instinct (easy to break up) and mix it with canned wet food. My cats have been very happy with it. I also break up a few of the pellets over their kibble and they eat that better as well. As far as drinking water, we have a couple of pet water fountains and they definitely drink out of those.

cat mom extraordinaire

I have a cat with sensitive tummy issues and this is one food that he gobbles eagerly & keeps down. He has put on weight and we are very happy.

Good Not Great

As cat lovers know, dry food isn't as good for feline health as canned/wet food because cats haven't evolved to drink enough water for kidney and urinary tract health. From evolution, cats naturally get most of their water from the food they eat. Also, although this food is marketed at 93% chicken & organs and 7% veggies, etc., on a dry matter basis, this food is actually 40.4% protein and 36.2% fat, which leaves approximately 23.4% carbs. So not 97% "protein" but as written on the bag, 97% chicken & organs. With regard to macronutrients, these numbers are better than most dry food for cats but if your cat will eat canned/wet foods, a low-carb canned/wet food would be a better choice than this dry cat food. But if your cat will only eat dry food this one has a decent amount of protein for a dry product. Hence, the good but not great 3 star rating.

Top Notch!

My cat loves this, more than any of her other foods. If she gets too much, she wolfs it down and yaks it up so she has 17 small meals a day.
