Since I got my last bag, my cat refuses to eat it. Had to go buy another brand and she eats it just fine. Something must have changed with the formula.
This has been all of my cat's main dry food for years. The last bag I received was crumbs thru & thru. I'm really disappointed- it's like the entire bag is made up of the old leftover pieces you'd find at the bottom of an almost empty bag. My cats don't eat crumbs and I now have to mix it with wet food- Instinct is too pricey to waste. I need to maybe look at different dry food options...
I have both a kitten and a dog, and this is the only brand we get for both babies. Even when our kitten was only on wet food, we stayed with Instinct.
This is a good food with great ingredients, my cat just did not like it at all, he is a bit picky, but he really hated this and protested it by not eating, even after I transitioned his food over two weeks.
We adopted 2 rescue kittens recently, 5 weeks apart from 2 different rescue groups. Both had recommended the same food line R.., not saying their full name. My first kitten would only eat dry food, and would eat that brand. Not totally keen on the pork in the recipe I found the Instinct kitten chicken formula and started offering both. Then kitten no. 2 arrived, also being fed the R.. brand. Because of this I offered both kinds. Today, a month after adopting my second kitten, I watched both eat. Neither touched the other brand, bowls side by side, but chowed down on the Instinct instead. Both girls love it!
This is new for my cats and they seem to love it. No vomiting yet from this new food.
This is the only cat food that my Ragdoll can eat without having digestive issues. I have tried several other brands in the past that he tolerates for awhile but then the diarhea returns. Since being on the Instinct Original for the past 3 years he has had no problems.
I can tell there is a positive difference in my cats' condition and coat.
I have been trying several dry foods with my cats lately, trying to find one that my picky cat will eat. Based on how quickly my cats started eating it, I would say this one must be pretty tasty. However it does have a high protein/calorie content so I can't leave this one out for them to "graze" - but it works well for my picky cat since I know he will get the nutrition he needs when he eats it, even in small doses. The kibbles are also a nice size, not big. Overall seems like a good choice, will likely buy again.
I switched to this from Science Diet when I found a database that told me Science Diet isn’t actually as good for cats as it should be. My friend recommended this brand and it was rated higher on the cat food database so I gave it a go and I’ve been buying it since! I even gave a bag to my friend to give to her picky eater and she said her cats love it! My cats can’t get enough so five out of five paws :3
