Is their chicken of any form in rabbit meal dry food?
Answer by ChewyAug 08, 2017
This recipe does contain chicken fat. Because chicken fat contains virtually no protein, its use does not cause allergic reactions associated with the use of fresh chicken or chicken meal, both of which contain high amounts of protein.

What is "Montmorillonite Clay" it seems to be in both the wet and dry versions of this food. Thanks.
Answer by ChewyDec 25, 2018
The Montmorillonite Clay in this recipe acts as a natural anti-caking agent and detoxifying agent.

He likes It!

Our little rescue had started skipping breakfast and was often times gassy. We switched to this and he clearly likes it better! His stomach is less grumbly and he’s less gassy :) Glad we made the switch!

only thing my cats will eat

My cats both absolutely love this. The older cat has always been a very picky eater and this is the only dry food he will eat. I’m glad it’s one of the healthier options for cats. I started feeding them this when petvalu went out of business and I couldn’t get their dry food anymore. It’s got real ingredients and not too much filler so I’m comfortable feeding it to my cats. I leave this out in a bowl all day for my cats to graze on between meals.

Frann loves her food!

Fran is allergic to chicken and has pretty bad skin issues. This is the only food that has helped her skin and coat clear up, I get her the soft rabbit cat food as a lil snack and she loves it. I also use on occasion the "sensitive skin" freeze dryed toppings and she's all about it.

My cats don't care for it

Periodically I like to mix up the proteins my cats are eating and I especially like to include rabbit in their diets because rabbit is something cats in the wild would eat so I figure (perhaps incorrectly) that evolutionarily rabbit is a good food for them. I was able to get a good deal on this food but unfortunately my cats don't really care for it. They will eat it eventually, but they are extremely picky about it and are eating much less than they normally do. Most of them immediately run away when I put down bowls although they'll come back to pick at it over the course of the day, and this is not normal for any of them. We will finish off the food I ordered but I don't think I will get it again.

Everyone’s favorite

The cats and dogs love this one! Of course the doggies have their kibble but if the kitties are eating this kibble then it must be better!

My Cat love it!

My cat loved this flavor. He was begging for more. I think it's good to change up the food and flavor if your cat is not too picky, which he is not.

Just Ok, Cat Prefers Other Flavors

I like to switch up the type of protein my cat gets every once in awhile, and this food had good nutrition facts and a decently clean ingredients list so I thought I'd give it a shot. Took one star off because my cat is historically not picky with what I've given him so far, this is the first food he is clearly hesitant to eat. He will still usually finish what I put down for him, but even when he does it takes a while. He never left behind food from breakfast (I feed twice a day) with the Instinct Ultimate Chicken and the Instinct Ultimate Duck varieties. I will not be repurchasing this particular flavor.

Cat prefers other food

While my cat finished this food, I don’t think she likes rabbit very much. I think she prefers chicken or fish recipes. Which is weird considering she likes to go outside and hunt in the summertime. I have switched to the chicken ultimate protein from this brand but I am still looking for a high protein food without peas.
