Ideal feeding amounts will vary by age, weight, and activity level so the guide below should be used as an initial recommendation. Divide the per day by the number of feedings per day. Be sure to always provide clean, fresh water. Along with dry food, we recommend feeding raw or wet food to help increase the amount of water in your pet’s diet.

Works for ibd cat
By LLRG on Feb 21, 2021
I got this for my other cats to eat and my cat with severe ibd ate some, and it actually works for him. He doesn’t get bad poop like on other foods and actually wants to eat it continuously.

Improved everyone's life
By Catladyof8 on Jan 24, 2021
I have 8 cats and this food helped so much. Everyone's coat is soft and shiney and they lost all of the extra weight from the junk food they were eating prior. Took my pickiest a bit to get used to but now they empty the bowls every day.

Even the Raccoons love this!
By Binxy on Jan 6, 2021
My cat loves this dry food and the dog begs for the freeze-dried pieces. It's the only dry food the cat will eat before going for her wet food. We had raccoons get into the storage room and they ate an entire bag but wouldn't touch the dog's dry food. Apparently, it's a win for all the animals here.

Raw bits to big
By BEst on Jan 13, 2021
My cat had no problem with the kibble portion but would not touch the "raw" chunks because they are HUGE. I had to crumble them into the kibble before my cat would eat it. Please shred the raw bits or make them smaller.

my overweight kitties on prescription food
By Star on Oct 10, 2020
My cats are 8.5 years old and brothers. They have been on Prescription food for many years and I worry about how overweight they are. So I have been doing a lot of research and found out I can take them off the prescription food and watch them carefully of course, and give them food that is freeze dried and with probiotics. So I have slowly been introducing 3 different Instinct products including this kibble. They are doing great and moving better, they are more active, they don't cry hungry at night anymore and are eating less altogether. Their digestion also seems to be better. I'm very happy so far!

Cats love it
By Taylor on Nov 17, 2020
My two kitties like the food especially the little raw chunks in it. They started out in the kitten formula and transitioned very quickly and it didn’t upset their tummies :) my dog also seems to enjoy stealing this food out of their bowls lol

Good ingredients but cat not interested
By Ginger on Oct 31, 2020 Top 1000 Contributor
I was still searching for a dry food my one cat liked. I liked the idea that raw boost was mixed in. At first he seemed to like it but didn’t finish the bowl or go back finish what he left. Just my picky cat I guess. This is the reason for three stars.

I wish my cat
By Briney92 on Sep 6, 2020
I wish my cat didn’t puke all the time on this food. The ingredients are great, the price is right and we have been using this for years on and off (we have a super picky cat who get bored - don’t blame him!). I don’t know if they switched the formula or maybe my cat was going through something b/c he was fine before. He became better when we switched him to something else. The thing that alarmed me was when my dog started puking on the dog brand of this same food. Idk, they are both better now on something different.

Such great changes!
By Dharris on Aug 22, 2020
I switched my cat to this food about three weeks ago. She’s almost a year old. I wanted to try to change her diet to help her weight. After she got spayed she gained a lot. I decided to try this because I was told it didn’t have any fillers and that could be what was causing her to gain weight. She’s actually losing weight, slowly but surely. I can tell it in her flanks and when I pick her up she feels lighter. I feed her the recommended amount on the bag and she LOVES it. She picks out the chicken pieces first. BUT, not only has she lost weight, the amount of times I have to clean out the litter box has drastically decreased! With her old food I was cleaning it out every day because it smelled sooo much and she seemed to go to the bathroom a lot. Since I’ve changed to this brand of food, I keep forgetting to scoop the litter daily because...I CANT SMELL ANYTHING. Of course you’re going to smell it when she goes if you’re near by, but it doesn’t smell up the room anymore. I also noticed that the amount of waste she’s leaving behind has decreased as well. So much so that I was surprised by the lack of compared to what it had been being, when I cleaned it out today. Aside from that, her fur seems to look and feel healthier. All around, I’m completely satisfied with the decision to change her over to this. She likes it. I like it for her. I may look into changing my dogs over as well. … more

I Could be Subjective.
By Tnel on Aug 19, 2020
Since I have two finicky senior cats, my journey of finding the right cat food for them has been quite tough. I had many trials and errors and ended up many cans and bags of cat food that used only once. However, they went for this food like a magnet. The only thing I might add is the row coated pieces. My male cat seems not mind it, but the female one does not care for it. You may want to try it without them first. If you have cats like mine, I have to wish you luck with this.
