Questions & Answers

How do I feed my cat raw? Just cause it’s uncooked I’m wondering if it’s ok to feed straight out of the bag?
Answer by ChewyMar 23, 2021
It can be served as is or rehydrated by adding water. We recommend adding 2 tablespoons of water to 1 cup of food. If introducing your cat to raw food for the first, we recommend doing it over a period 5 to 7 days, mixing increasing amounts of raw food while decreasing current food.

This recipe contains approximately 4.75 cups in a 9.5 ounce bag.

good food, small servings

i actually liked this food and i loved how much my cats liked it but i felt like the bag went by soooo quickly. i calorie count my kittys food to try and prevent obesity. for 2 kittens (10 months. 7-9 pounds) this bag only lasted me 5 days.

Thumbs up!

My cat loves this stuff. I sprinkle a bit on top of her soft food and she manages to pick the individual kibbles and eat all of them first. It is a stand alone kibble product to replace other kibbles but my cat thinks she is getting a treat when I feed her these!

Great, just wish it came in bigger size!

I have two Snow Bengal kittens and they LOVE this stuff. Very good for development and has all the right (and healthy) ingredients in it. We also give them Stella & Chewy freeze dried which they also love but this has the recommended DHA that kittens need. Only downside is that the packages are small and sell out quick so I have to buy in bulk just incase they run out again.

Cats want MORE

Now that they've tried this, the kittens HATE that I can't get more! Great stuff- all the right ingredients and apparently all the right taste!

I feel pretty good feeding this to my kitten.

I like Instinct products in general I've been using them for my dog as well as rewards/treats and figured I'd try them for my kitten since he was refusing his canned food. I have to crumble the pellets and mix with warm water or bone broth, that's the only downside, the pellets are large. He eats a little of it, and I have to throw it away, but at least he's ingesting some more nourishing foods. Wish the pellets were smaller for cats/kittens

Does Not Ship Well

Purchased thinking this would be a nice supplemental feeding for two new kittens. My first grievance is the fact that the item does not ship well at all. Item arrived crushed beneath other items and the freeze dried bits were pulverized to a dust inside. Had to sprinkle it as a topper instead of a meal as a result. I imagine that it would have been easier to actually measure had the food not been reduced to a powder, but my second grievance is the fact that it was made almost impossible to accurately measure out meals out of what was left. Honestly, I could have gone with a topper and paid less but I was hoping that I could have used this as a viable meal replacement option. Would recommend either choosing another brand of freeze dried meal or purchasing in store where you can verify the condition of the product prior to purchase.

Cats Loved This

My brother took in a stray momma cat that had 5 kittens on his porch. I send him food and treats from Chewy every so often to help with the cost of feeding these precious animals. I love the convenience of helping him with the cost and Chewy sends the food directly to him when I am in Ohio and he is in Florida.

Feline Fine Dining

Our blue tuxedo sphynx MariPosa is 8 months now. Upon arrival 4 months ago her digestive system was bad and our Vet recommended freeze dried. She is now in fantastic health. I smash up the pieces into a powder (great stress reliever :) and mix 1 Tbsp per 1/4 can wet Instinct Kitten. She meets me in the kitchen and watches her chef prepare her meal.
