How do you get the top off to get inside. Is there a trick?

The top screws off, simply grip the top and twist it counter-clockwise about an inch until the groove interlock is released and once the grooves have released the top will come off.

Where do I get a compatible replacement pump?

Very noisy once it gets less than 3/4 full, the waterfall effect was not as advertised though the motor is quiet. Attempting to return item.

Folks have said pump doesn't work

The pump can collect mold which will affect its ability to function properly. Soak it in a solution of water & white vinegar. I clean mine with toothpicks to get

The pump can collect mold which will affect its ability to function properly. Soak it in a solution of water & white vinegar. I clean mine with toothpicks to get any accumulated debris out of the vents also. It works well after doing this every 3 months or so and just takes a few minutes after a good soaking in the solution. I hope that helps some frustrated buyers. My kitties love the fountain and my floor stays dry!

I purchased this item for my cats who have always splashed water out of their dish. It was working great and the cats were no longer able to make a mess with the water. Then, within a week, the item completely stopped working. When I plug it in the motor no longer runs and water doesn't come out. Pretty disappointed for $60.

Unfortunately I’ve purchased 4 of these. The motor/pump constantly goes bad even though it’s cleaned and filter replaced every 3 weeks. Filtered water is also used

Unfortunately I’ve purchased 4 of these. The motor/pump constantly goes bad even though it’s cleaned and filter replaced every 3 weeks. Filtered water is also used. The spout always has an issue and leaks over the bowl. Sadly I am done with this brand. I’ll go back to Drinkwell.

I tried a few different fountains before finding this. The filter system is great and my cat loves it. Its also very quiet! Definitely exceeded my expectations.
