Does it come with at least one filter? Or do I need to buy separately. If so, what kind.

With initial purchase, this fountain includes a filter that helps remove hair and other debris from your pet’s water. It is recommended to replace the filter every 2-4 weeks, depending on how much your pet drinks. We carry the "IRIS Replacement Filters for Dog & Cat Water Fountain" which are compatible.

Can this system be used outdoors?

This fountain is intended for indoor use only.

Can the force/strength of the water flow be adjusted/changed? My kitty likes a thin trickle from faucet not a gush or strong current. I currently have the drink well mini and the flow can be adjusted by a lever.

Not for strong cats

It works well as a fountain, but because the blue funnel piece can be removed, my cat learned how to pull it out and throw it across the room. Removing the funnel

It works well as a fountain, but because the blue funnel piece can be removed, my cat learned how to pull it out and throw it across the room. Removing the funnel (by a cat) can sometimes nock the lid off of the small connector point of the pump and cause water to shoot out incorrect. This resulted in multiple times that fountain had emptied itself onto the floor with the water spraying up on the inside of the lid and sliding out along the edges instead of through the main hole. If you have a cat that likes to play in their water, this may not be for you.

Water doesn’t last

I didn’t realize my dog would like a water fountain so much and she drinks plenty of water. The water fountain doesn’t hold much water so I refill it once each day

I didn’t realize my dog would like a water fountain so much and she drinks plenty of water. The water fountain doesn’t hold much water so I refill it once each day. My main issue is that even when the water is very low the water fountain will keep running which I’m concerned about and can’t leave fountain running while I’m away.
