The way this barely snaps together is not snug so it leaves a lip and gap where urine catches. I bought this for my big boy who likes to pee right on the sides or back of the litter box, the one i had wasnt high enough and he overshot so in the trash it went and I found this one, about 4 inches taller but 2 separate pieces (top and bottom) so if you have a kitty that likes to pee on the side of the box, the urine gets trapped in between the top and bottom on the inside lip because it is not a tight fit, the top basically just sits on the actual litterbox with 1 snap that secures it. Disappointed because I thought I finally found something perfect for my smaller older girl and my big boy, but alas, I am still on the hunt!
Almost perfect!

The bottom is not flat. For some reason it is raised about 1/8 inch leaving a 2 inch x 1/8 inch gutter around the interior bottom. That means you have to scrape the edges by coming off the edges instead of simply going around the perimeter of the bottom. It also did not sit level for some reason until I added enough litter to weigh the uneven side down. I like it, and it is the right size for my big kitties. It was just not designed with ease of scooping in mind. I also like the blue color!
it's really a big box!

I needed a high-sided box because (one of) my cats tends to pee over the edge. While the sides are high enough, the way the top and bottom of the box fit together doesn't prevent urine from getting outside the box. It should have been designed so that the removable top fits *into the bottom, not *onto the bottom. Unfortunately I frequently find myself having to bleach and clean up urine from around and under the box .... and when it's full of litter, it very hard to move and clean underneath the box. Not Chewy's fault by any means, but this Cat Mom is very frustrated that I can't fix my issue.

I don’t usually leave reviews because I know they’re based on personal opinion, but after repeatedly dealing with this issue, I felt it was worth sharing. Every time I clean the litter boxes, I think, “I should write a review today,” and today is finally that day. While I love the overall size of this litter box, I truly don’t understand the design choice of adding grooves along the sides. My cats tend to pee along the edges, and those grooves trap clumps of litter, making it nearly impossible to get a clean scoop. Instead of a quick clean, I’m left digging litter out of the grooves, which creates an even bigger mess. The size is great, but the side grooves are unnecessary and make cleaning far more frustrating than it should be.

I love the size and the scatter shield, as well as the materials both are made from. BUT why have an uneven bottom of the litter pan, especially when it creates low areas all around the sides? My cats love the corners and sides to do their business, so this means wet litter and poop collects around the sides and in the corners. Because this surround area is lower, it is more difficult to scoop out. Why not have simply have a smooth bottom for the entire litter paan?
Larger pan solved our problem.

One of my cats, Tigger is 14 years old so I like to pamper him. Last fall I had three kittens on my porch and I took them in. I've had cats my whole life but never experienced anything like this. All of a sudden Tigger started pooping over the side of the pan. After getting a second pan regular size nothing changed. It looked as if the pans were too small and that was exactly what it was. No more over the top in this house!

Another litter box we bought for our new cat clan member who does #1 with her rear end facing the opening. I have had to modify the opening a bit as the new cat's habit has defeated the higher opening. After a few days usage and seeing where the #1 piles are I am a little concerned the #1 might get under the scatter shield and potentially be a harbor for smells making weekly cleaning of the the scatter sheet required.

It may be on the larger size, but for my tubby senior cat who had decided that pooping with her tush hanging out of the litter box was acceptable instead of putting the effort in to turn around, this is a perfectly acceptable size box! We haven’t had a misfire since. My younger kitty likes it because when she digs now, she doesn’t dig up treasure as easily because there’s more room to “go.” I recommend it!

This exact, specific litter box was recommended by our veterinarian to address some recent “issues “ with my cat preferring to do his business in not great places. It does take a LOT of litter to fill it. It’s so much larger than my other litter boxes. The walls are nice and high so the enthusiastic scratching and burying doesn’t send litter all over the floor. He has plenty of room to do his business, turn around, and cover everything up. We ended up keeping a regular sized box next to this gigantic one and he uses both. Whatever works to make him happy!
Large!

This box was larger than I expected, maybe too large. However, my bengals love it. I have one particular Bengal and he’s super picky about his litter and boxes, this seemed to satisfy him as he has enough room to move around. It’s like a mini sandbox haha! Only gripe is that the scatter shield doesn’t snap on and one of my bengals kicked it off somehow. So, I have to figure out a way to tape it or keep it from moving.
