This stuff is amazing!
My girl ended up needing a small area on her back shaved due to a wound, it was taking ages to grow back and she was due to be shown. I purchased this to see if it would help and within 2 weeks the spot was GONE! couldnt even tell where it had been! I am always recommending this product to everyone! if you need your pups fur to grow back in a hurry this stuff is for you!

My absolute favorite dog shampoo
I guess we all have different needs and priorities. For us - we need the shampoo to clean, yet not strip the oil completely. We need it to help our dogs smell clean, but not make them smell like they've been visiting at the perfume counter at Neiman's. We have exceptionally soft water, so rinsing quite a lot is simply what we have to do; we've not had issues with build-up or difficult rinsing with IOD products. We don't expect a shampoo to handle shedding - that's done on the grooming table with a slicker and comb. Combine this shampoo with the No.50 light conditioning, and that's our routine for our double coated dogs.
Smells good but not worth the price
I love this brand and thought I would try the more expensive formulas and hoped it’s would help with shedding. I have noticed a bc difference in her shedding but the scent in the cheaper bottles last longer. I will be going back to using their cheaper formulas instead.
Nothing Compares- I’ve tried!!
We have Labrador Retievers and Portuguese Podengo Pequenos and we do dog shows. I’ve tried a ton of other product lines. Most products (even those specifically marked for wire or coarse coat breeds) left our dogs’ coats much too soft (even washing 3-5 days before a show), didn’t rinse well without a lot of elbow grease (even with diluting), left the dogs with dandruff (dry skin), and didn’t smell all that nice either. While the Isle of Dogs products are a bit on the spendy side, they’re worth every penny!! Simply nothing compares to these products!! They smell good without a heavy perfume odor, rinse cleanly without a lot of work (and without dilution so no messy mixing), and I can use them as often as I need (even weekly- though only on rare occasions) without drying out their skin (no dandruff) and at almost any time without losing too much natural coat texture (even the night before a show). The Royal Jelly is my “go to”, but I have also used the Coarse Coat (mainly for the wire-coated Pequenos) and Black Coat (helps to take brassiness out of our shedding chocolate Labradors) as well as various other IoD grooming/styling products (Thicken, Royal Jelly Supplement, brush sprays, etc). Highly recommend these products!! Every IoD vendor I’ve ever spoken with has never had to actively promote these products (hand out flyers, take out ads, etc). They’ve always been able to sell right from their booth and/or website simply by “word of mouth”- with good reason! They are the showing world’s best kept secret!!
It Works the first Try
I tried it for the 1st time and there is less hair to sweep up now. My dog has a more silky coat and no dandruff.. Love the product...
Great shampoo
I have been using this shampoo for years, since a friend who shows her dogs recommended it. My dogs have soft, shiny coats, no itching. I dilute it and it lasts a long time, lathers nicely and rinses out completely.
Good but rinse well
A nice shampoo, it’s helping my dog get back her coat. But if you do not rinse really really well it leaves a build up on the coat. I had to rinse a few more times then I do with other shampoo.
Really a 4 1/2 but I rounded up
I bought the small bottle. I had used other isle of dog shampoos (lush coating and the tear free puppy) and loved them but preferred to dilute them to make it easier to spread all over. I found that while this is still a rich shampoo, it spread so incredibly easily and neither needed to dilute nor use copious amounts to cover my dog in shampoo. It rinsed out easily as well. I used this as well as the high moisture conditioner, and my dog's fur is soft, fluffy, and shiny. The only thing keeping it from being five stars is that I don't smell the scent of the shampoo and conditioner after drying. Still an excellent product though.
