I recently bought these cow ears for my dogs and I noticed there was one with the cattle's identification number still tattooed in the ear. Is it still safe for my dogs to eat?

They don't look like the picture at all. Dark and very greasy instead of dry like I'm used to. It wouldn't matter so much except for the fact that I have white dogs
