This pump is not able to be used outside of the tank as it's submersible and will automatically turn off if the water level is too low.

I bought this pump for another build but ended up using in my 110g saltwater reef tank after the 300$ pump i bought for it couldnt make the cut. Put this in a m d it does amazing it runs like 17ft of head preasure (tank is 6 feet up on another floor) and this thing kills it so quiet I cant even hear it with my ear next to it is runnong at 65% and pushing close to 1000gph my overflow can hadle 1000gph and it is at its peak with this thing on medium so awsone. Will never buy another pum. Also got it delivered like the next mornong befpre i even woke up wife brought it in to me sleeping.

Quiet pump 55 gallon aquarium

Plumbed externally to 55 gallon aquarium wet dry box. It replaced a little giant which I had plumbed with plastic tubing so I marine siliconed a 3/4 inch pvc pipe

Plumbed externally to 55 gallon aquarium wet dry box. It replaced a little giant which I had plumbed with plastic tubing so I marine siliconed a 3/4 inch pvc pipe connector into the pumps intake fitting which was connected to same set up at sump by plastic tubing and O clamps. Quiet, set at 80 percent which keeps my overflow box as full as I like it and also runs a uv light water flow in my sump plumbed through the return lines. Quiet and no vibrations, can only hear water gurgle. Feed setting is convenient that it automatically turns back on in 10 minutes. No leaks, been running for about two weeks at time of review. I believe it to have good value at Cheweys price point. It did come with peanut shell inside packaging so not sure if it was snack time on the Jebao assembly line during this pump's production or a well repackaged return that was sent back out.

Using the DCP-30000 as a return for a 40G display 20G sump. This thing moves a huge amount of water and I can't hear it running inside the cabinet. I plan on using two of these for my 120G rather then one large pump. GREAT PUMP it works as good as pumps costing 4x as much. Can't speak for longevity yet only used it a few weeks.
