Not an improvement over traditional litter box

The setup instructions were confusing as written and having to dismantle it to clean seems like it will be a complicated process. The entrance to the litter box is quite high, about 12 inches from the ground. Connecting to wifi in the app was easy and straightforward. The instructions say that you can use any kind of clumping litter, I am using a granular tofu litter, and it only holds about 4-5 lbs of litter because the litter area is so much smaller than a regular litter box, even though the box itself is huge. My two cats have not been interested in using it yet, I think it will take more time. I think it could get messy as they don’t always go right in the center of the box. The app has a manual setting as well as automatic. The manual setting allows you to decide when to sift the litter. It will also give you a weight measurement for your cats when they use the litter box.

I like this automatic litter box overall. The cat likes it too. It’s our first automated box and he took to it quickly. Occasionally the poop gets stuck on the wrong side of the sifter, and I have to go in with a scoop to get it out. But it’s still better than scooping daily. We have had the box get stuck in the closed position (while it was cleaning) due to its anti-pinch sensors. We were not home at the time so it was closed for a while. Luckily he had a second litter box if necessary. So that’s my only reservation. It is sensitive so needs to be completely level and not too close to a wall. I also love that it weighs him each time he goes in!

I want to like this contraption, but I find it to be cumbersome and takes up too much space in an area where I have to plug it in, and the litter area is too small and the box sits up too high. I did all the tricks recommended to try and get my cats to go in it but they’ve completely ignored it. The actual space for the cat is too small, so I’m thinking they just don’t feel confident in going in there. Mind you, I do have three large cats, so maybe it could work for someone starting out with a kitten that wouldn’t get very big as an adult. Anyway, it just doesn’t work for me. And I decided I don’t need WiFi for a cat box either. I ended up disconnecting that.

It’s also on the smaller side, and he is on the larger side, so he doesn’t have much room to move once he is in it. Overall, for the price, I feel like there are much better models available.
