WARNING - Danger! Danger!

I have no doubt this rake works like a dream. HOWEVER, there should be a guard on these VERY SHARP BLADES as they're more like knives. And a warning! I started to de-fluff my rough collie puppy with my new rake. One stroke and my thumb was bleeding where it was sliced by three of the blades. Now, this is partly on me. I'm an experienced pet owner and have handled many sharp grooming tools. I'm very careful and should have looked at the tool more thoroughly before using it. But, there was nothing protecting what turned out to be razor-like blades. Neither is there any warning on packaging or in the instructions to give this new user a heads-up. There are descriptions using "cut" and a couple other terms. But, I was thinking "rake" - like leaf rake - not "slicer" in the kitchen. Thank goodness I don't have children in the house! Nor did my puppy try to chew on this tool. Again, this tool probably works very well once you've been educated. I'm not sure I want to keep this around without proper safeguards and definitely won't use it until the pup is more mature/calm. Chewy/Manufacturer - please consider the safety of your customers and label this product appropriately. And, please design a safeguard cover so that unsuspecting children/dogs don't get hurt!

Great product

This rake has saved many dogs from having a complete shave down. It will thin out the hair some as well. It’s great on tails and thick fluffy tangled butts. I have used on ears but I do so with care. I would never recommend using on a dogs face. I would recommend safari demat comb for faces. Overall Jw is great for big jobs. Ps. Matting behind the ears it’s best to clip because it’s a sensitive area.

Must-have grooming tool for rough Collies!

This is hands-down the best dematting grooming tool that I have ever used on my rough Collie! It works very gently and is also great for getting out his undercoat. This is honestly a must-have item for any rough Collie owner, and I’m sure it works just as well for all other long-haired and undercoat-heavy breeds.

Dematting Rake

The prongs are too long for use on my cat. I couldn't see that from the picture when I ordered it. It would work better on a very long haired dog or maybe cat.

too huge too huge

i didn’t realize this was huge. my bad. i have a puppy now, mini schnauzer, and this is far too big. will donate it to someone local. would be great for a big furry dog.
