can I use this on my dogs, even if they have not been tested for tapeworm?

The Bayer Tapeworm Dog De-Wormer is not a preventative and is intended to remove common tapeworms of dipylidium caninum and taenia pisiformis. Tapeworm segments are easily seen around your pet's anal region or in their poop, similar to grains of white rice. Of course, it is not always obvious that your dog has tapeworms, so the best way to identify a problem is through an exam performed by a veterinarian.
