Is Go Dog only for canine athletes?
Go Dog is appropriate for any breed of dog that is active, no matter to what degree, especially in hot environments. Hydration is the single most important nutrient during activity and dogs are at an even higher risk when it’s hot. Virtually all metabolic reactions occur in the presence of water. Keep in mind that thirst is not an accurate indicator of fluid needs during activity! Dogs can be severely dehydrated, yet be too excited to drink water, or too stressed. Go Dog helps stabilize and replenish electrolytes and fluids that are depleted during activity with a mix of electrolytes and short-burst and long-range energy fuels designed to hydrate and help keep your dog in their performance safety zone. When should I use Go Dog, before or after activity?
Go Dog is designed as a pre/during activity formula like a pre-workout drink for people. Drinks should be given in portioned amounts, depending on the size of the dog, before and during activity. An example would be walking or hiking. Give Go Dog prior to setting out, and during rest stops where a normal drink would be given. The amounts and intervals can be tailored for your dogs activity level. A 16-oz squirt style water bottle is perfect to pack if you keep it cool. The goal is to maintain effective levels throughout the activity period. This is accomplished by giving at regular intervals. Another example would be dog agility which is more strenuous on the dog. Go Dog can be given the night before the event, the morning of, just prior to run, and in-between runs. Give Go Dog portioned out throughout the day, this will keep the dog hydrated and keep energy and focus at peak. Similar events over several days are taxing on the dog. For optimal results or when events last several days our Super Fuel formula is a great addition to the dog’s end of day meal. Super Fuel will help speed recovery overnight.
Will Go Dog help hydrate dogs that don’t like to drink?
Go Dog will help to keep your dog hydrated. That said it would not benefit the dog if they won't drink it! Go Dog is meat based and tastes great, so dogs will happily drink it.
