Can this be used on the front of the person with the dog facing forward? if not, is there a different option available for this position?

That's not how this pack works. You'll need a different pack.

How long can you keep your pup in this? Would it get too hot for them considering their body heat and their humans body heat? I’ve been debating on getting this for my 16 lb chihuahua but I live in a hot area and I’m worried about him getting too hot.

Does this keep the dog's back from rounding? Will it hurt them after a couple of hours? I have a dachshund and I'm worried he'd get back problems.

K9 Sport Sack carriers were designed under the close supervision of multiple veterinarians to ensure maximum comfort and safety. If the K9 Sport Sack is used properly, you should not have any issues with your dog's back. The carrier (except for size XS) is equipped with a lumbar strap for extra back support. However, if your dog has pre-existing health concerns or we recommend consulting your veterinarian before purchasing. During the consultation, it will be important to know your dog may stand on the base of the bag at first, but will settle in to sit in an upright position on their bottom. Their front paws will be exposed and resting on your shoulders. We recommend using the carrier for 30-45 minutes at a time.

While my dog doesn’t love the backpack, it is so nice to be able to take our senior beagle on longer walks with our younger dogs and know we’ll be able to easily

While my dog doesn’t love the backpack, it is so nice to be able to take our senior beagle on longer walks with our younger dogs and know we’ll be able to easily carry her home if she gets tired. I also love the extra storage making it easy to bring water and treats for everyone.

I bought this for my 12 year old 12lb yorkiepoo for when he gets tired on hikes. He lets us know when he’s tired and rests in the carrier and when he’s rested and ready to walk again he also lets us know. He loves to go on hikes but due to his age and previous hip surgery he can’t always make the whole hike. This allows him to continue to enjoy the outdoors with us.

We have an almost 12 year old cavalier. He is no longer able to take long walks so we got this for travel. He loves being in it after doing a short walk. It was easy to follow the directions to get him into it and he was cooperative The only issue is it doesn’t have a strap around your waist like a backpack to support your lower back so even at only 20lbs it started to hurt our shoulders so a 40lb dog would be hard on the shoulders.

Buckle came off and rubber on zipper broke

I really wanted to love this backpack. It's nice quality and has some great features like a cute storage pouch and extra security straps. Unfortunately, the fit is just not right for my dog. The length is fine but the depth is too tight. I bought the size large for dogs up to 40 pounds. I have a 27 pound Shiba Inu and it's just too tight for him to be comfortable.
