When transitioning to a new pet food, do so slowly over a period of about 7-10 days, mixing an increasing amount of new food with old food each day: Start with 75% old food mixed with 25% new food for approximately three days. Then mix 50% old with 50% new for approximately three days.
FAQ
Our products contain natural ingredients without the addition of artificial coloring or binders. As a result, you may note variation in the appearance of our products between batches.
Our bodies and our pet’s bodies react differently with proteins and fats. An allergy is caused by the bodies reaction with the protein of what we’ve come in contact with. Our chicken fat is free of chicken protein and will therefore not cause a reaction for those animals with a chicken allergy.
No, FirstMate and Kasiks do not contain GMO ingredients.
Chicken meal is a concentrated source of chicken protein in which most of the moisture and some of the fat has been removed. Meals such as these provide nearly 4 times more protein than the fresh ingredients.

BEST FOOD FOR MY DOG

My dog, Abby, is a mix of Schnauzie, Springer Spaniel, Chinese Sharpei, and Cattalouga leopard hound. She is my service dog, a Diebetic Aert Dog/Anexiety-panic attack support dog. She is wonderful and as a rescue, she is VERY food motivated girl! She has been eating Blue Diamond dry, serving size 1cup per day, split am/pm, loves it, and always wanted more. I was given a sample (5#), and recommended 2/3#, split lam/pm. WOW! She is losing weight, her coat glows and she his an added bounce in her step. Her digestive system is better, stools are smaller, and far more regular. She loves it. Yet it is filling, as she is very satisfied! I'd recommend this wonderful FOOD to everyone!.
Great for anal glands!
One of my dogs has anal gland issues AND a sensitive stomach. My other dog has a sensitive stomach, gas AND needs to lose weight. Finding a good dog food that doesn't
One of my dogs has anal gland issues AND a sensitive stomach. My other dog has a sensitive stomach, gas AND needs to lose weight. Finding a good dog food that doesn't have grains, chicken meal, or potatoes in it WITH high fiber has not been easy. THIS FOOD IS AMAZING! It solves the problems for BOTH my dogs and my picky dog LOVES it. His gas has gone away and the other dog's anal glands aren't full anymore as they easily express on their own. Their coats are shiny, smooth and they both have good smell about them. Their teeth and breath even seem healthier. This food is high in fiber though so slow introduction is best for your dog to get used to the fiber content. Once they do though it is the best dog food I could find to fit my dogs' needs. I highly recommend to anyone with the same issues as my dogs have.
My pooch loves it
Made the switch to Kasik, first tried the chicken and then we though our dog might be allergic to chicken so switched to the lamb. He loves it all!!!! Great quality

My dog went through many dog foods in the past to no help. First for diarrhea, then due to his anal glands filled due to loosen stool and last he kept getting ear infections that would cost me $300 to clear. We decided to go to the holistic pet store in town and were told to try a different diet, so we were introduced to this one. 3 years later and NO EAR INFECTION!!! another good thing about this food is that you can switch between the 3 flavors without any problem so the dog gets different flavors each month.
2+ years on it, dog still loves it

My Schnoodle has been eating this since our local Pet Food Express opened, 2 years ago. All the skin problems he had before this , even on other grain free food, has gone away. He has not gotten bored of it, at all ! The reviewer that said her dogs poop too much with it, I suspect they were being overfed. Since I got it locally , my store rep explained to me emphatically , you cannot feed this food in the same amount as the previous ones, he had been on, such as Wellness, Nutro, so many others. He weighs 14 lbs., so I feed him less than a half cup , 2 times a day. With the previous brands, it had been a half cup twice a day. The employee read the chart on the bag and did the math for me.........wish I could tell you the exact precise measurement but I am quite dyslexic with numbers. I know the amount , how it looks in my measuring cup... But yea, if you feed this food in higher amount than recommended, they will poop too much. This is one way to know the correct amount, combined with the recommended guidelines. Speaking of poop, his is perfect size and firmness....which has also eliminated the need to get his anal glands expressed. I think the high protein is the reason I was told the amount of food is less than the former brands.

After feeding my 9 month old Pit mix this food, at proper measurements for her age and weight, I began to notice a shocking change in her body and behavior. Before feeding her this food I had her on Diamond Naturals, and she was filled out with a nice muscle mass and weight, and has tons of energy; but as soon as we switched to this she started getting skinnier and skinnier, less wanting to play and more laying down and sleeping half the day away. Her face thinned out to the point where you could see her cheek bones, and her spine hip bones were able to be felt with just a gentle press to her fur. She took treats like she hadn't eaten anything all day. This so called plant based diet had given her more frequent stools, less time to digest her food and actually get the nutrients she needs, and was ultimately causing my dog to starve. I am glad I noticed all these signs before anything could worsen, and least to say, I'm switching her off this food.
