Transition Instructions

When transitioning to a new pet food, do so slowly over a period of about 710 days, mixing an increasing amount of new food with old food each day: Start with 75% old food mixed with 25% new food for approximately three days. Then mix 50% old with 50% new for approximately three days.

Why do your products appear different at times?

Our products contain natural ingredients without the addition of artificial coloring or binders. As a result, you may note variation in the appearance of our products between batches.

Chicken Fat and Chicken Allergies:

Our bodies and our pet’s bodies react differently with proteins and fats. An allergy is caused by the bodies reaction with the protein of what we’ve come in contact with. Our chicken fat is free of chicken protein and will therefore not cause a reaction for those animals with a chicken allergy.

Do you use GMO ingredients?

No, FirstMate and Kasiks do not contain GMO ingredients.

What is a meal? How does it compare to a fresh meat?

Chicken meal is a concentrated source of chicken protein in which most of the moisture and some of the fat has been removed. Meals such as these provide nearly 4 times more protein than the fresh ingredients.|Weight|Senior/Less Active Per Feeding (cup)|Adult Per Feeding (cup)|Puppy Per Feeding (cup)||---|---|---|---||2 - 5 lbs|1/8 - 1/4|1/8 - 1/4|1/8 - 1/4||5 - 10 lbs|1/8 - 1/4|1/4 - 1/3|1/4 - 1/3||10 - 20 lbs|1/4 - 1/2|1/3 - 2/3|1/3 - 3/4||20 - 30 lbs|1/2 - 3/4|2/3 - 1|3/4 - 1 1/4||30 - 50 lbs|3/4 - 1 1/2|1 - 1 3/4|1 1/4 - 2||50 - 70 lbs|1 1/2 - 2|1 3/4 - 2 1/4|2 - 2 3/4||70 - 90 lbs|2 - 2 1/2|2 1/4 - 3|2 3/4 - 3 1/2||90 - 110 lbs|2 1/2 - 3|3 - 3/4|3 1/2 - 4 1/4||110 - 140 lbs|3 - 4|3 3/4 - 4 1/2|4 1/4 - 5|

    Dogs love it

By April on Oct 19, 2021

They were on a different puppy food but our old dog ate this and loved it. The puppies thought it was candy the way they would look forward to it. They are very happy with this food. We are happy owners.

    By 19animallover on Aug 10, 2020

I have a 12 year old lab and an 8 year old mini Aussie and they both love this Kasiks food! I’ve been feeding them this food for over 7 years, and never have had a problem. I recommend this food for your dog!

12 year old lab gains 2nd life

    By 4PawMom on Apr 29, 2019

I recently bought a Bouvier and knowing that big dogs don’t live as long, I discussed food options with the breeder That’s when I found out about Kasiks I also have a 12 year old lab and a 3 year old lab I had my 12 year old on a senior food and ran out So I gave her the kasiks She started eating faster, her hair has softened, her energy has increased and she has actually gained weight but gotten smaller so I know there is some muscle developing We thought we would lose our 12 yr old lab by Christmas 2018 Now we’re hoping for Christmas 2019 or beyond Thank you Kasiks!

    Great Food!

By scrapperchick on May 17, 2019

We switched to this food when our 12 year old JRT was getting sick from his old food. We feed 4 dogs of varying breeds and sizes (all under 30 lbs.) and they all love it and have no GI problems and lovely coats.

    By Ltk89 on Jul 4, 2018

Love the ingredients and formula, but my dog has stopped eating it. She was eating the ocean fish version but stopped eating that one also.

Great ingredients at a great price!

By Mbnichols on Dec 7, 2017

I try to mix up my dog's food from time to time. I shop around to find comparable ingredients, made in the USA or Canada by a small company. I also look for good reviews. This checked all the boxes. She has tried this food when it arrived and she really enjoyed it.

    Kasiks Dog Food

By Doggiefood on Jun 18, 2017

Excellent dog food. Regulated my dogs bowel movements, they eat less and feel better. Their coat improved tremendously. Goes a long way for two dogs between 15 and 17 pounds each.

    High fiber, high quality

By Abby on Mar 1, 2017

I tried several different types of food and may dog's poop just wouldn't firm up. Kasiks has the highest fiber content of any other food and it worked, my pup now has solid poop (no more dingleberries). This food is higher in calories too so the servings are smaller, making it more economical. Plus my little one likes it and gobbles it right up!
