How easy is it to remove the wheels and how are the wheels removed?

The wheels are securely strapped with Velcro and are easy to remove.

Doesn’t fit

I was really looking forward to traveling with my cat in this carrier. To be sure, I took it to the airport to see if just the carrier would fit under the seat and

I was really looking forward to traveling with my cat in this carrier. To be sure, I took it to the airport to see if just the carrier would fit under the seat and it does not. Two airline reps checked it and said I couldn’t fly with it. I am so glad I went to the airport and checked. Since I really need the wheeled base I have decided to keep it. I will use my old carrier and use a bungee cord to secure it on the base. I am so disappointed.
