I have tried various sand products for our gerbils, and this one has been the best. I know other people claim that it is too dusty, but to me, the other ones are too clumpy. Are gerbils really enjoy bathing in this one, and it covers them well. This is the only one I would buy.
I just watched a tiktok about how this dust killed two of this girls chinchillas. Please don’t buy
THIS PRODUCT CAN BE LETHAL TO PETS PLEASE BEWARE...
So it said sand chinchillas are supposed to have sand so I bought it for my hamster and it is powdered!!
I have used this as a sand bath for my winter white and robo hamsters and they both love it
This sand is not good for chinchillas! Chinchillas need powder baths not sand. Can easily get into chinchillas eyes with the thickness and graininess
my hamsters have never had a sand bath before, so it took them a few minutes to get comfortable with it, but my hamsters loved it!! Super fine sand!
my secret santa just ran out of it, so it was perfect timing
Sand is not supposed to be used on chinchillas. It dulls the color of their fur and makes it rougher. Chinchillas need dust baths not sand because the sand does not remove the oils. Using sand is very bad for your chinchilla... so please do not buy this product!
look, i would rate it lower but it's partly my fault for not looking at reviews and the q&a. i didn't know this wasn't suitable for gerbils or hamsters because its advertised as SAND when in reality it's DUST. i'm sure for chinchillas this will do fine, but for any other small pet owners out there, definetly do not get this.
