The bulk of my SE TX backyard birds are cardinals, chickadees, tufted titmouse, Carolina wrens, and bluebirds. When the package arrived, I tried to empty it into my feeder, however the package was clogged with a huge clump of peanut suet or whatever the “nuggets” are in this mix. Apparently my birds don’t like a lot of what is in it for they picked thru it and much of it wound up on the ground, creating a mess. I don’t feel like my birds preferred this over what I currently feed them, therefore the average rating. It’s a decent product, just my backyard birds didn’t eat all of what was in it.

This bag lasted my bird feeder about a month, the birds visited very frequently throughout the day. Finches, wrens, and even an opossum visited the feeder with this food being used! I gave a little to my pet mice and they loved it too. The food is very clean looking and smelling, no signs of mold or being spoiled (it’s definitely fresh), and I love that the peanuts are already shelled.

This review is for the 8.5 pound bag. The food mix contains tiny seeds and a lot of peanuts! Good smell though. I thought the birds would like it but I have put it out for over 1 week and very little has been eaten unfortunately. I live in Flagstaff Arizona, and we have lots of pine trees and deciduous trees in the area at a high elevation, so maybe it’s just not the right mix for the birds that live by my house.

This bird seed works phenomenally to keep the birds happy and away from my garden. They have been going crazy eating the seeds left out for them and I have had many more birds come to see what I put out for them. The lightweight bag makes it easy to carry and just spreading a few handfuls at a time works well. The added calcium for egg production is a great feature and thoughtful of our wildlife.

I have had this bird food for about a week now and the bird feeder is still about 3/4 full. Unfortunately I haven’t seen any many birds stopping by to eat it. Usually there are plenty of birds that visit my yard, but maybe with the recent changes in weather they haven’t been coming by as often. I’m sure the squirrels have been enjoying the food though. Hopefully the birds will return soon to try out this food!
